The Lava Acrylic is very cool, but I think that the Ebony would be my favorite of that bunch.

This 2013 #15 Jack in smooth Ivory bone arrived today, it's one I have been on the hunt for:thumbsup:

What a beauty! :)

Thanks, guys. :) The shield is definitely outstanding.:cool::thumbsup:

Here are a couple of more knives I picked up from the Exchange, back around Christmas (thanks, Lance). Both are Case products, one canoe and one stockman, and both are IMHO excellent!

GT, that vintage Canoe is fantastic!

In the dictionary there is a definition for the word 'funky'. I think this says it better. I know there were several size/variations of the Schrade wire Jack. This one is 3 3/16" closed. I couldn't resist it. I cleaned it, put an edge on it and oiled it.
Now, does anyone know how to date this one? All help and comments appreciated.

I've always thought those were very cool little knives! Funky is the perfect word to describe it!

This one just showed up today. A grail of sorts. Definitely have been looking for a clip point with crown lifter!

Glad you were able to find a clip point Crown Lifter. I'm a sucker for Nifebrite!

Paul, I really like that Camillus.

Just received this today, and after a moment during which I appreciated the sense of great satisfaction with which it imbued me, I put it straight into my pocket.

That jigging looks great!

Just showed up yesterday, really excited about this one. Lloyd Moonshiner. Reminds me of a Zulu, Sodbuster hybrid. Very cool pattern!View attachment 880322

Very cool indeed!

I just got this in the mail today, from @lavishmammal (Thanks Colby!). I had a green jigged bone one that I passed along thinking that the 43 might be better, but I really like the 43 AND this 74, so I got this one and will be kicking something else onto the exchange soon.

Can’t believe I am still buying 78’s but just couldn’t resist one of last few single blades still left.;) Those who say the recent run of GEC’s have softer pulls, let me introduce you to Mr. Tidioute 78 Elderberry with resounding “bang” snap shut with a road runner “boinngggg” half stop!!!

I hope that indicates that you just paid for yours . Those really came out very nice .

Harry

That’s a bone micarta single blade from the 2016 run, not one of the double blade micarta models from the most current run Harry. I wasn’t lucky enough to score one of those unfortunately :(

There's something about these steel covered knives that I like. It's like art, I know it when I see it. That's especially so when they are a bargain.
It's a Parker Cut. Co. 95152 Eagle Brand Cutlery stainless steel lockback. It's made in Japan, probably in the 1980's? It locks up tight and it's 3 5/8" closed.

Luckily this one became mine...
A funky etched lettering, smooth bone handles and a nice inlay shield.:)
The "electric" pull could have a little more action:rolleyes:, but I like the knife anyway a lot:D.

Interesting knife. Can you tell us more about it? Any more pics?
thx

Ramrodmb Ramrodmb ,
it's a three blade whittler, tang stamp on the small blades from JBF Champlin,
blade print 1 of 50. Electric etching and Electic Cutlery tang stamp on the main blade.

I just found this quote on the JBF Champlin site:eek:.
Seems like knives should not have been for sale...:

"Hey Guys,
As many of you will recall, Mike and I had 2 special factory orders
made with the “J.B.F. Champlin” trademark on the knives.
You may be surprised to know that there was another SFO run of knives
that we never told anyone about.
These 3 blade knives were made by Queen in 2013 and have the J.B.F. Champlin and Electric trade marks.
Unfortunately, the quality of these knives turned out so poor, that we could not in good conscience,
sell them to any of our friends or customers.
We decided to reject the order and never took possession of those knives. The folks at Queen were complete gentleman regarding the whole thing.
Sadly, this well known manufacturer has since gone out of business. Queen has a long and rich history, we are honestly quite sorry to see them go.
However, with Queen closing, we lost control over those rejected knives.
Now they are showing up on ebay, and have been available at one knife show that we know of.
(There are rumors that the knives were stolen from Queen).
Please make no mistake, these knives should not be for sale! They are not endorsed by us in anyway, shape or form.
We are sorry to see such poor quality knives on the market with our trademarks on them.
Best regards,
Michael Losicco
Derek Smith"

I didn't pay that much money on the bay, and I bought it because I really liked the look of the knife, the blade shape, handles and etching.
Sure I was wandering about the light snap of the main blade, and the closing problem of one of the small blades, maybe because the main blade is quite tilted to one side. At least the 1 of 50 blade has real good action:D.
I didn't want to harm anybody by posting my newest traditional (which I still like despite the little faults),
as the quote became online three days after I bought the knife.
I guess JBF Champlin would not like more pictures to be posted...:(?!

Well, it is what it is. Very unique! Thanks for the explanation!

I have the dubious distinction of being the first person to snowboard off the summit of the mountain.
Meaning you were the first to ride down when it was skiers-only (cool) or that you literally rode OFF the mountain (probably not cool, but maybe was cool:cool:)?
