That’s a gorgeous knife.

These came in yesterdays afternoon mail. I got them to use for evaluation in the thread "New Owners of Schrade" as I said I would in that thread.

Rough Rider 521 Large Stockman with 440A steel blades, saw cut, brown bone, covers, and fancy ringed bolsters. Rough Rider Sowbelly with 44A steel blades, saw cut, brown bone, covers, and fancy scored bolsters. Imperial Schrade IMP25 Sowbelly with 3Cr13MoV steel blades, cracked ice celluloid covers and ringed bolsters.

I reckon if Duane @sitflyer and Jeff @black mamba (both established collectors and users of knives) have given these manufactures and country of origin knives a fair shake that I'd give them a shot too.

Looking forward to your review on these. For the money (and I know that phrase has been psychoanalyzed to death) I am amazed at the quality.

Very nice!!! Is that one of the newest (2018) Selects? And what is the color called? Thanks!
Thanks ... yes it is. A dealer notified me that they were in and I quickly bought one. I blinked and they were sold out! The color on the jigged bone is Cabernet.

Just showed up yesterday. 9cm lock back Laguiole. This one has the extra file work and some real nice French Walnut, advertised as gunstock quality. Although the knife is 3.5", it seems small. It's very slim and goes almost unnoticed in the pocket. I think I'm going to like it!

It's good at slicing a baguette! I just realized I didn't take a shot of the pile side. The walnut matches perfectly and is just as nice as the mark side.
