Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

It’s actually built on the Cadet size frame, a little smaller than a Farmer, so it never had an awl, it would’ve been a nail file.

Ah, I see. My mistake. That's really cool then! I don't think I've seen a saw on the smaller ALOX frame before.

Bought these two today. The olive nr 8 Opinel is a pair for my slim olive nr10. Regrettably this has the new lock and I must think what to do about it.

The second one, Miguel Nieto was a pleasant surprise. It needs sharpening (it is semi-sharp now), but that I can handle. The AN 58 steel should sharpen well. The fit and finish is much better than I expected for the price. This is a slip joint, the spring is not too stiff and the action is nice and smooth with a good snap. Closed the blade is centered, there are no gaps in the handle and no sideways wobble in the pivot. Not bad for a 30 euro knife.

I think the only knives that came from the factory l, that were not a special run, with a saw on the smaller frame were the Lumberjacks, discontinued and recently re-introduced as the Walker. It has a blade, saw and the tool that quadruples as a cap lifter, can opener, flat and Phillips screwdriver. I am by no means an expert so I could be wrong though. I can definitely see a farmer in my future though. That would’ve been the perfect knife when I was in Scouts!

Sorry, I had meant to quote Planterz Planterz on his last reply so my post actually made sense.

I love knives with metal covers. Kevin @Burnt Stag posted an aluminum Buck 111 recently so of course I had to have one. Why get one when you can get two? The 111 is the same size as the venerable 110 and I like how Buck's name us engraved on the mark side. The 510 is like new. If you look around they are available with the included leather sheath which I passed on. Cool knives to me.IMG_4781~2-01.jpeg IMG_4783.JPG IMG_4782.JPG
