Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Woah Paul, Nice QCCC! I have always been a fan of these particular knives. I used to own several of the Cotton Samplers from Queen. These were very well built knives. Congrats!

I just bought a BF 2014 knife from a few of Charlie's leftovers, from Barry. This one is stag but dyed red.

Thank you Perry, it carries smaller than it's beefy size:thumbup: Prior than a few months ago I had never owned a knife made by Queen:o They say "Good things come to those who wait" boy I sure waited, why I don't know:)

Just got this pair in the other day

And I got the Swayback Gent to your damascus Soddie, Jamie.

Mine is of almost perfect craftmanship. Blade centered, nice strong spring, no bladeplay and nice matching scales. Mine will definitelly be a user.

Ditto on the Soddie. Not much to critique but did notice it is not the smoothest, does it take the damascus a little longer to smooth out? Almost like the damascus pattern is creating some drag?

I could be due to the rougher surface of the damascus steel; compared to the regular CV or 420HC steel.

I think it will smoothen by use and a drop of oil could help as well. Mine doesn´t show so much rough action.

Hey Jamie, sweet couple of knives! May I suggest buying some Quick Release oil? They have a website and just check it out. I have used this oil for years and it works wonders!

Good points, guys. I did use some mineral oil which helped some. I will look into the quick release oil.

Really like the Case, actually the FIRST one I ever purchased new  is the Damascus stainless?

LOL! I´m asking myself the same question. But I will find out after some food prep :D ;)

Some days ago I asked a fellow forum member Pete (Stich2442) about it and he said, that his Soddie seems to be stainless at it takes no patina. His Peanut does perform a nice patina on the damascus steel.

Went to a gunshow this past Sunday afternoon and found a number of nice knives for sale. I bought two, a 1980 Case Appaloosa Barlow and a Case 47 Whittler; haven't taken any good photo's of the Barlow yet. I was pleased to find the Whittler; it's one of two whittler variations, that I know of, Case has built on the 47 frame (I collect pattern variations of the 47). This one has a tapered wedge, two spring design built on the 3-7/8" Serpentine 47 frame (very similar to the old 6380 Whittler). MFG in 2010 with jigged, red bone handles and sold in a large Whittler kit consisting of a blue tin with knife, Arkansas stone, wood block, and whittling instruction sheet. I'm till looking for the 1994 era three spring variation - actually found one of those too in a "Confederate Penny" edition, but sloppy blade fit turned me away from buying it. OH

Certainly a very attractive Whittler that one. I'd like to get hold of one soon.

Thanks, Will.

Bought a second Blade Forums 2014 Stag 77. This one was referred to as "blonde."

Here is the other side.

Although it looks kind of craggy on the pile side, the stag is actually quite smooth or flat. The slabs are thick, and the smooth stag has a waxy texture to it. Blade is centered. No play or wobble. Very well constructed. This knife is bomb-proof! It will probably still look good in a hundred years!

Scott, it looks awful good from here my friend! To me, it already looks like an antique and that's the way I would keep it, if it were mine. Like you said, "it'll probably still look good in a hundred years!"
These are awfully special to me, being the first run of a new pattern and I believe, as time goes by, these will be remembered as the beginning of something pretty unique coming from GEC in 2014.
Beautiful 77!

Scott, that buttery stag looks just great! I thought of Eli Wallach's character, Tuco, in The Good the Bad and the Ugly, calling Eastwood, "Hey Blondie!" Made me laugh. Is this one gonna be your user?

I waited a long time to find the right Case 47 pattern stockman, and man was it worth the wait! Just got this one in damascus and burnt cream covers, and the fit and finish is top notch. Also, these newer 47s are on three springs, so no krinked blades. All three pulls are right at a 5.5, very consistent, with great snap, and the edge bevels are pretty clean and it came sharp. Enjoy the pics!
