Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Paul, what a cool whittler! That's a knife that begs to be used and carried and cherished.

That's super cool looking horn! I love the color and the depth.

Here are mine. I have managed to acquire all these over the last week from a hospital bed. Not a bad Christmas haul...

Wow! What a haul!

Just arrived, a Frank Buster Fight'n Rooster Whittler in Stag:thumbsup: Carbon blades with a nice stamp on the MASSIVE Sheepfoot:eek::thumbsup: accompanied with a cool pen and coping blade
That is one gorgeous knife Paul and the sheepfoot is amazing. The Frank Buster's are such impressive pieces.

An amazing acquisition array! Spectacular choices Andrew. I hope you will be out of there soon.

Today my dad gave me a better knife than I could have ever asked for, an 8ot that belonged to my grandfather. Apparently my dad found it recently. I never knew my grandfather, so having his knife that is also the same brand and pattern that I prefer means a lot to me. I was more excited to receive this than the last ten knives I got combined.

That's a special knife.

Very unique knife Paul. Nice score, I really like that one!!!!

Thank you Jerome, I hope Christmas was joyous:thumbsup:

Paul, I could read posts like that forever. I treasure family keepsakes and that one is so:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks Dwight, I am not well versed on Franks Buster knives and now that this one arrived I'm sure I'll learn (buy) more;):)

That Washington Jack sure would make a hospital stay more enjoyable.[/QUOTE]

I was surprised at how much I like that knife. SO well executed and fine, and yet still so sturdy and work-y.

I can't even get that stuff when healthy :D

Nice Ebony 92 I see there, I do have that at least, Spear version ;)

Santa wanted me to have some special toys... That one is actually green micarta, just hard to get that color to show in the lighting conditions I've got.

Living proof of time & determination! Speedy recovery!

Thank you! Getting there slowly but surely.

I do, too. Gonna try Apple juice and maybe jello tomorrow.

I got knives from the 1950s, the 1960s and the 2010s, but since it's already dark (we just got home) and I'm a tease, you'll have to wait for photos! I'll try to get them up in the morning. :D

I kind of consider it an appetizer more than a tease, especially the knives from 50s and 60s

Wow Andrew, a haul indeed, now get well and get home buddy:)

Working on it, got some sharpening and grinding to do...

Holy!....
Moly!

So here is the Christmas haul, compliments of my wife and that porch-dwelling rascal, joeradza. Alan went way above and beyond to help my wife secure a most desired knife that had so far escaped me (the blood red Barlow).

1950s Robeson serpentine pen in French ivory, #423405 @ 3.30"

1960s Schrade Walden melon tester in pearl celluloid, #SS700 @ 4.50"

2018 Northfield Barlow in blood red sawcut bone, #771218 @ 3.67"

I knew I had a package coming from a location that seemed familiar but I wasn't smart enough to put two and two together. I just thought it was a package that my wife had ordered for herself.

Turns out it was this sweet little Remington R1072 Jack knife that Jerome, Lostball Lostball had sent me. Solid as a rock with excellent walk & talk. Just a really sweet little knife from days gone by.

Thank you, Jerome! I love it! You sure know how to pick em!

Very nice Rick! Jerome!

Here's a set of knives I ordered on Black Friday. Cannon Sailor Knives with stainless blades, brown hardwood handles, bails, 3 7/8" closed, with inlaid anchor shield. They arrived in a display box:
3.sailors&hedgehog.jpg

The bottom blade is advertised as a "modified tanto", but I'll probably think of it as a coping blade on steroids. Here's a pic of the pile side of that knife; the wood is actually much nicer than I expected!
coping.pile.closed.jpg

The sheepsfoot in the middle is a hefty blade. I've been considering these knives for a long time; their price suggested that they were probably junky knives, but I find an anchor shield almost irresistible!

Although the top knife in the display box above obviously has a spearpoint blade, the ads call it a drop point. This pic shows that the blade etch on each knife is kind of cool, too.

I haven't used the knives much yet, but my initial impression is that they are actually NOT junk, and I have no regrets about ordering them.:thumbsup:

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Wow...Paul...I see what you mean my friend - Stunning Knife, this one isnt over-decorated either - I think this one is BANG ON!!! Nice score my friend in fact very nice!

I just landed these 3 traditionals last week to close out my year. An older (1998) but new Case Copperlock in Appaloosa, an older but new Case Small Stockman in stag, and the GEC #99 in stag. The case locks up like a bank vault, the GEC has what appears to be the typical vertical play.

Love em both though!

Thanks, Paul. :) They're not exhibition-quality by any means: gaps between backspring and liners, blades not centered and even rubbing against liner.
But they seem solidly built, and my guess is that if someone is more concerned with function than form, these Cannons will be very acceptable.
