Thanks for posting that video of Andy. I knew him as a kid and he turned out to be an absolute genius on stage. Unfortunately like many people with talent such as his it didn't translate to the real world.
You're welcome, Alan. Andy certainly was a genius.

I was curious about Hiroaki Ohta's friction folders and ordered one from one of our contributing dealers. I'm a big fan of Mr. Ohta's work and have 4 of his custom slip joints with stag covers.
This is my first friction folder. This one is an FK5, the top one in the image from Hiroaki' s catalog.

A little knife that couldn't be more minimalistic if it tried. The one piece handle is some really nicely finished ironwood. The D2 blade came razor sharp. The maker's name is in small script on a corner of the handle. The knife has a smooth stiff action and came with a nice leather slip.
At the price of about half a Franklin it was worth it to me.
I'll find a pocket for this one and see if it grows on me.
Here's a few pics of mine.

Fascinating, Gary. Yet another knife to add to my list!

Dennis, the Bermuda Green is the perfect cover for the seahorse, and of course, the silver script is wonderful as well.

Thanks Jeff. Fell in love with the Bermuda green a couple years ago. Have been searching for just the right one since then!

Wright Ettrick Pruner. This one in Rosewood, last week I got one in Ebony, a mania developing here....:D The Rosewood is very nicely finished, works well and has nice porous looking grain to it, well pleased.
