Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Here are 4 knives that I recently received. First is a TC Barlow Stews Blade in red sawcut.

Next is a GEC Pemberton in stag. This is my first of this model but won't be my last.

Next is a Russell barlow in mother of pearl. Beautiful scales on this one.

Last is a Schrade barlow. This is an older knife made when Schrade was still made in the USA. It is in really great condition.

Nice ones Fairhaven. That old Schrade 206 Barlow looks like it's never been used !!! Mine is not in as good of shape and I sent it off to have some saw bone scales put on it. Can hardly wait to get it back ... but it may take a while. I hope not too long Lol.

Beautiful knives Fh. Can someone explain to me what the purpose of the cut out "spey" looking blade is? And, doesn't that point stick your hand when you reach for it in your pocket? They look cool, but yikes.

That is a "Razor Point" blade. Became popular after the Civil War due to the number of hand amputees. You can open the blade by hooking the point on your jean's pocket, etc. i.e. allows for one hand opening.

OK, now it makes sense. Thanks again Joe.

Thanks Brad. However, this Stew's Blade I bought from hoodep. And I was not able to restrain myself and did also buy the TC Barlow from Brett. It is a 2 blade model in red jigged bone. It arrived today & I will post a picture of it tomorrow.

Nice Fairhaven! Did you redden those handles up on photoshop or something? Just kidding--those scales really make for an appealing Stew's Blade TC. Congratulations on a nice score.

You scored a nice a couple there also BB! Congratulations--WELL Done

Case 06247PEN, a variation of the 47 pattern to add to my slowly growing collection of Case knives built on the 47 pattern - this one was made in 1975 and has the mismatched scale dye often seen in Case knives from that era. OH

Thank you sir. The pics aren't the best. It was nightfall so they are indoors with bad lighting and my cell phone. I'll work on some new pics. The sheep Barlow is thanks to Brett. His pics show the coloring better than mine.

Yes, I didn't look close enough and assumed I knew what I saw. That'll be a good looking set of brothers.

Very nice! Can you tell more about the larger NW barlow? I don't believe I've seen it before, and it looks great!

It's a Northwoods Horticulturist with Italian Jigged bone covers. 3 1/2" closed 420 SS. Very slender blade. I figured it would make a nice fruit knife. It says Gladstone, MI on the tang so I'm assuming it was a Queen Cutlery made knife. Feels very solid though.

Ah, yes... looks similar to the slender "gent's barlow" that Queen is making now. .....only a bit prettier, but that's just my opinion. ;) I like it! Thanks for showing.
