Both of mine exhibit a proud back spring on the pen blade when open. If only they had filed the back of the tang juuuuust a little more. I still love the knives. My little swell center jack needed a big brother, so I rounded up a Copperhead in CV and the same "dark" red bone.....
The copperhead is nicely done, with the only "flaws" I've found being a slight gap at one backspring, and the spring is slightly proud on the pen blade when it is open.

I really like the single blade and the black Kirinite. The only thing stopping me from picking one up is the big shield that I don’t fancy so much. Stupid reason, I know. Any other shield and I’d have gotten one in a heartbeat. Who knows, I may still. LolA final copperhead. Really I'm done View attachment 1826665 I've got like, 30 copperheads between various manufacturers, so why would I ever buy any more

Anyway its a single blade black pearl kirinite. Really hard to photograph. You wouldn't believe how many I deleted. Change the angle a little bit and it looks completely different. Pretty cool

That looks great Barrett, we’ll doneA few weeks ago, I picked up user natural canvas Micarta #71 Bull Nose off the exchange. Having seen the knife that he gifted toJohnDF a while back, and admittedly being a bit jealous of its awesomeness, I reached out to
Sacto to ask if he would do a similar mod for me. Thankfully, he agreed, and it turned out awesome!
Bart thinned out the handles just a bit, rounded off some of the sharper angles around the handle, and modified the drop point into more of a spear(ish) point. This thing feels awesome in hand!

Bart's Specials are amazing, aren't they?
Thanks, Guys.
I predict a long love affair with that knife for you.... Case does the swayback jack extremely well... I've narrowed down my own selection of these to three.... technically, two jacks and one gent (single blade). The fit and finish I've seen on those knives is just borderline custom knife quality.
Thanks for the kind words. I plan on buying a gent, too!I predict a long love affair with that knife for you.... Case does the swayback jack extremely well... The bone color on yours is just wonderful... it fully rivals my favorite bone, the chestnut...
They made a chestnut jigged bone Gent also. I love Case's Chestnut jigged bone. Thanks for the kind words. I plan on buying a gent, too!
