Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

I had a wonderful gift from my friend Jack Black Jack Black make it in from the U.K. just the other day. :D

It's an absolutely gorgeous SFO A. Wright & Son swayback lambsfoot! Beautiful rosewood(?) covers, brass liners, and a carbon steel blade. I've owned several knives from Sheffield over these past years, but none have had fit in finish anywhere near this level! The hard work that Jack put in to make sure these turned out right really shows! Boy is it sharp!!! I am very grateful to be adding this fantastic knife to my collection. It'll be cherished and used! :D

😎👍
Well done Jack! 👍👍👍

Mighty Mite💪😂
Wasn't/Isn't that the Old Timer Old Timer solo blade peanut with a "Push to Release" tab locking blade ...? Or was/is it the nonlocking blade solo blade Old Timer peanut?
I forget witch was/is the "pal" and witch was the "mighty mite". must be getting "old". (witch beats the b geebers out of the alternative ... probably ... maybe ... I think ... even if it is painful to stick around... 😁)

Nice one John. Beautiful colors!
Thank you, Todd. :)
I've owned a few #48s before but sold them.
In the old days, before the Lollyscramble, I'd sell a knife to try another pattern.
The retail and secondary for regular runs were about equal, so it was easy to rotate knives in your collection.
Those days are over and I will have to hang on to this one... basically irreplaceable now.

Here’s a pruner. Ebony jigged covers, integral bolsters, bronze and SS shield and the blade and spring are blued A2. The bladesmith Daniel Keown is interested in making Sheffield patterns. This one is 4.25 closed and and the blade is 3.25. I do enjoy growing dahlias and will cut quite a few with this one. But I wanted it because I love the curves of this pattern and was just attracted to it. I really like the Case/Bose ones too.

The Mighty Mite 🦸‍♂️ is the liner lock and the Pal is the slipjoint. The Pal is one of my favorites.

How you liking it so far?

It feels great in the hand. Nice and sharp. The jigging reminds me of some of the jigging I’ve seen in old catalogs. The swedge is long. I think blueing the blade and spring looks outstanding. There is a lot of attention to detail everywhere on this one. I was interested in getting a pruner and almost pulled the trigger on a few. I am very happy with this one. It’s a beaut. I forgot it‘s perfectly centered and has a half stop. Fine walk and talk and easily pinched open.

I'm glad you're happy with it. I'm honored for you to have a knife of mine and I hope it serves you well through many years of use.
