Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Well, I went up to the mailboxes about an hour or so ago and a crate fell out of my mailbox and dang near landed on me. It was from Jeremy sbh06 sbh06 . I could barely get the crate in the bed of my truck but after huffing and puffing, I finally managed it. Finally got it home, opened it and found this bounty of goodies. A super duper Retired U.S. Navy hat and three hand made slips by the man Jeremy himself along with a Crossing the Line challenge coin. Got the hat on now as I'm typing this. Great jester by Jeremy and very much appreciated. I'll get a lot of use out of all the items. Thanks Jeremy.

I’m glad everything arrived okay, Ed, and can’t think of anyone more deserving of a small act of kindness to come back than you.

Looks great Ed, very deserving. Well done Jeremy sbh06 sbh06 . 👍

Blessings upon a dead knife guy and upon his widow.
The Orr Felt knife is a Camillus 23, 4.25" long closed with a hair over 3" blade.
The Albany Felt is a Camco, 3 5/8" long closed with a 2 5/8" blade.

Her prices are all over the place, but I liked the prices on these even before the 20% off.

Keep changing my mind over these, I like the Green Bone and the Hummingbird, seen one or two fine Stags too. But some of the Hummingbirds had poor finish I hear and a lot of the Stag is frankly off the pace. So I think the Green Bone could be the best option.

Be interested to hear your impressions of the knife after a while. Is the snap good on all 3? Is the Spear useful or just too small?

Thanks, Will

There have been some very attractive hummingbirds posted. I was looking for one, but got a decent deal on the jigged bone. I tend to prefer jigged bone over acrylic anyway, so I'm glad I got the bone.

I was expecting a knife of similar size to the 29, which is one of my favorites. I waffled for a while thinking that I like the blade complement in the 29, and didn't need a similar knife with different blades. I've always found the splitback designs to be interesting, so decided to give one a try. I was a little surprised by the smaller frame and how much slimmer, and lighter it is than a 29. I'm very pleased with it, at least initially. I don't think the shorter blade will be a hindrance for the vast majority of things I cut with a pocket knife. Its about the dame length as the main in a #14.

The smaller blades have half stops and light pulls. Maybe 3.5-4 at most. Good snap on both, however. The spear does not have a half stop and has a pull of 5, maybe 6 with good snap. F&F on this particular sample is excellent. No gaps, smooth transitions, no wobble.
