Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Another Boker Expedition arrived. On par with other recent Boker acquisitions. Very slight grittiness on closing the last 1/4 of blade movement, going to do a flush and lube, then exercise.

That's a beauty!! I hate to point this out, but it looks like there's a pin crack on the center spine pin, mark side
So Willem responded that there does appear to be two cracks The one you pointed out and another small hairline one on other side. Although stabilized and not uncommon for Kudo bone I guess. Kudo bone has grain lines and the pins can sometimes separate it a little. Just need to seal it with resin. I’m paraphrasing here.

I told him I’d be fine with it if he said it was nothing to worry about. However he is remaking the knife and this will also get me the hounds tooth escutcheon and long vine pattern on the spring as I had originally requested through the dealer.

He’s a good guy and I feel kinda bad because the one he made originally is awesome and I’m sure would have been perfectly fine regardless. I’m just hoping the color comes out as vivid in the new one. He’s good people.

After a year of asking, discussing, and waiting, the Shing custom has arrived. I’m always interested in trying new-to-me custom maker’s knives. This one is stout and well made. Not a bells and whistles knife, but a hard use knife with some nice features. I’m looking forward to getting to use it and see how it does.

Just got this beautiful Bulldog congress in ivory. I wasn't even looking for this at all but I stumbled upon it and I just couldn't pass up the deal I got it for since it was listed as having white plastic covers.... but I've looked at these models before (and own another in bone stag) and was pretty sure they never did one in white plastic. So I took the rather cheap gamble and ended up with a near-mint in-box beauty.

Unfortunately ivory is kind of hard to get a good picture of.

Here it is next to my other ivory Bulldog which I ALSO got for a steal several months ago because it was listed as "white bone"... again I was pretty certain they never did this model in white bone. This one didn't have a box though but was also in near-mint condition. Been whittling a lot with it since I got it.
