Suffering from a very PLEASANT type of shell-shock here This past weeks must've been the richest in my guise as collector. Trades, gifts, purchases I've been helped with and long standing Custom order being delivered. In no order, GEC 59 Hummingbird, Viper Ram's Horn, Jérôme Latreille in Warthog Tusk, SAK Excelsior in Red celidor, GEC 74 Pruner Jigged Micarta and TODAY a really odd but appealing 'special' Opinel No.9 huitre (Oyster) knife

Just picked this up in a trade. I will definitely be looking for more of these italian slip joints from Lionsteel and Viper. Fabulous fit and finish, and I don't mind the screws coming from the modern folder side. Great grind on this one as well.

I'm not surprised they couldn't move these at $60.

Can the British Admiralty have been serious about the medievalesque sheath? It has no welt and no insert, so I don't see what will keep the knife from cutting its way out, unless the throat of the sheath clamps the edge away from the leather. And the belt slits will take your belt through the middle of the throat, where the belt will interfere with the knife until the knife cuts the belt.
I like the shape of the blade, but at $30 I'm still a sucker.

I had one more in order and it looks like it’s finished and just being shipped. A K’roo lambfoot. I asked for a different shield and a different pattern of Willem’s in the spring but oh well. Those are very nice. Made by Camillus I believe. The R106 is the same knife in stag.

Been on a bit of a spree lately. Had been looking for a 5-dot to EDC and found a stockman (?) that fit the bill. Bit me pretty good while giving it a quick clean and sharpen, so I’ll know it’s mine now. ;-)

It’s also got me wondering if it’s carbon steel. Off to find a lemon to check.View attachment 2086347

Looks like a stockman to me! One of my favorite patterns to carry despite me mostly using the clip and sheepsfoot and ignoring the other secondary. I picked up a GEC 35 Cattle Knife to try to "break the habit" I hadn't owned a cattle knife until this point, and I'm hoping I will enjoy it with its spearpoint just as much as I enjoy my stockmans!
