Your opinion on Emerson knives?

The flipper tab is in way when cutting on a flat surface. The whole thing is a gimmick fed by the Instagram fake-makers.

My index finger always gets in the way when I'm cutting on a flat surface. #nomorefinger

Nothing brings out the trolls like a good Emerson or Strider thread. At least this one deteriorated into the interesting topic of flippers are IG inspired marketing hype. I didn't realize how controversial they were until now.

Unless you work for Emerson or something I just don't get how it offends you so much that someone could have a negative opinion of the company. I bought an Emerson, it sucked, the lock failed. I handled some more Emersons and they sucked as well. Are all people who've had bad experiences trolls, or just some of us?

Further more, are people who speak negatively of strider "trolls" ?

I guess it depends on if it's their mission in life to do so. :D
I can't think of any company or person I feel like crusading against. Seems like it takes too much energy and giving a crap to do so.

I can understand people who casually show up to share negative experiences and impressions, but some people show up in every thread that mentions certain brands.
That is when it seem to become trolling behaviour...at least that's my impression of it.

He is speaking like anyone who says anything but praises is a troll. News flash this is a forum of people with different experiences and opinions.

Mission in life is an exaggeration to say the least. If someone post sparks thread in a strider thread I don't consider them a troll. But you're entitled to your opinion.

Sure, but not every mention of Strider needs it.
Maybe every 5th mention should get the post links?

Just seems like some people have a "Strider/Emerson/Zero Tolerance/CRK/etc" signal that alerts them to all mentioning of their most hated brand.

And flippers and bearings...they now seem to have a signal that alerts certain people to all mentions of them too. ;)

Again, that's your opinion on how often it should be posted. Does showing up to argue with people who post striders info in a thread count as trolling?

Does bringing up Strider in a thread that is actually about Emerson?

I will tell you that the anti-Strider crowd has accomplished one thing; they have taken the joy out of sharing any use of them here.
I'll still use them because I'll be damned if the internet will affect what I do in real life, but it has taken the joy out of them on the internet, in the spot that I spend the most online time.

I might buy some more Striders if they come up with something I want, but I won't be sharing any pics for people to crap all over.

Idk, I didn't bring Strider up, I commented on a post with a question. I honestly don't care that you can't share your strider pics with out his history being brought up. Cry about it or go to usn lol

Wow, very mature comment.
No crying here (sorry for your luck).
I do have a USN account, but there you can't make any mentions of improvement to Strider knives, like a thicker lock-bar cut-out, without pro-Strider folks having a fit.

Pro-Strider, anti-Strider, they're just two equally annoying sides of an annoying internet coin.

Me, I just like knives...and haven't bought any Striders since 2009, if I remember correctly.
Apparently that makes me a fanboy that cries about things...except that I am not accepted by the true fanboys...

Sounds like a strider dilemma. Bummer, good luck:thumbup:

Did somebody say "bearings"....! :D

I can't wait for the Emerson/Strider collaboration with bearings and a flipper, made in China.
With zombie green scales, and a skull lanyard.
That will be the thread that crashes the internet! :D

(re people hating on Strider) I guess it depends on if it's their mission in life to do so. :D

I dunno; he's a particularly scummy lying dishonorable (says that right on his discharge papers) felon. Reminding folks of this periodically does allow them to make an informed decision when spending their hard earned cash.

I mostly agree, out of laziness, but I'm willing to take up a jihad-style holy war against the truly evil things in the world. I'll give two examples that I would be willing to launch the nukes over:

1. Vegetarian chili
2. Turkey bacon

Ok... and for what it is worth I don't consider you a strider fanboy. You are more of an indifferent knife user to me. With the exception of racist ownership you don't care about the people behind the company.

That's cool. Just don't expect every one to share your opinion.

Short of censorship stopping people from speaking their minds just won't happen.
Not much of a dilemma.
Seems when I cut things, the things I cut don't care what brand of knife it is.
