Your opinion on Emerson knives?

Yep, not a coincidence he has responded this way.
This was the source of my "lolwut" response. The only question of his I haven't responded to was something along the lines of "show me where anyone said tactical ninjas" . . . and this is coming from the same guy who makes the seal connection. LOL
Now THAT'S a fanboy group. Though they have been absent in recent times it seems.
y'all forgot about the best war of fans vs. haters.......bark river

I keep imagining this conversation happening in real life and its making me laugh.
OP: (Walks up to a couple knife enthusiasts at a random place) "Hey guys I'm thinking about getting an Emerson, do you have an experience with the brand?"
Knife Enthusiast #1: "Yes I have been carrying them for years and I highly recommend them. They are no frills durable blades that are dependable and practical."
Knife Enthusiast #2: "Not a fan at all, for the price there are better options."
Couple of BF members: (Converge on the group like the velociraptors in Jurassic Park 2) "RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE FIT AND FINISH! RABBLE RABBLE FLIPPERS YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE RABBLE RABBLE NO YOURE AN ASSHOLE RABBLE RABBLE I SAID THIS MAYBE YOU DIDNT HEAR ME RABBLE I KNOW HOW TO READ RABBLE RABBLE( For the next 15 pages)
OP: (At home enjoying dinner with the family three days later while grumpy blade forum members are still bickering with each other about random BS) " Damn I'm really loving this Paramilitary 2!" (As he slices into his steak)

Just having a drink and messing around guys. BUT I will say oddly enough this thread has really got me looking at Emersons again.

RABBLE RABBLE I take offense to this because it's so accurate RABBLE RABBLE

When does the axis lock patent expire?

Wrong thread? loi. But, from what I've read... some people say 2020, some say never. There are legal actions BM could possibly take to make it impossible for the competition to use the axis lock for the next 100 years or so. AFAIK. So I wouldn't be holding your breath mate haha.

My opinion of Emerson knives? I think they are some nice knives. I have two Emersons (a 2014 CQC 13 and a 2005 CQC 7) with an Emerson on the way. They are very ergonomic and comfortable to use. The wave is a nice feature and the chisel grind is nice for easy maintenance and stays sharp if you know how to take care of your edge. They are simple knives, you can adjust the pivot with a dime, flathead screwdriver, fingernail etc. You don't need special torx drivers or anything like that to serve the knife.
Now some caveats: I do not like the linear lock, specifically the titanium linear lock. My CQC 13 has a late lock up, it is around 80% lock up, while my 2005 CQC 7 lock up is 40%. I will probably get my CQC 13 pimped with a framelock conversion to fix the lock up. They are also pricey new but I buy my Emerson's on the knife exchange on this forum ( I highly recommend buying an Emerson on the forums if it is your first one if you want to try an Emerson.)
But overall Emerson Knives are one of my favorite folders I own and edc. I highly recommend you try them out.

The guy doesn't seem to be unlikeable... I am only starting to look at EKI, but I mean nutnfancy back in 0'12 didn't have nothing bad to say about the man. Check this interview. He seems like a really nice guy!

Look, I'll probably never be fully happy till I try a lemerson. I mean, they can't be worse than the kemersons, right?

Obviously you felt things weren't interesting enough so you threw in some Nutnfancy? Unnecessary hate incoming in 3...2...1...
I will say I have enjoyed the Kershaw Emerson's that I have used, but not enough to pay for a real Emerson. Not my style I guess.

My opinion.
Pros
Great Ergo's.Wave feature is awesome. Some of the best blade finishes out there.
Cons
Outdated steel, sticky locks and overly course G10. overpriced compared to many other US made brands

ZT does them better :)

You'd be surprised. I found the fit and finish of the Kemersons superior to the Lemersons.

. . . and if the Kemersons beat the Lemersons of course the Zemersons are on another level altogether.

I have carried and used an Emerson for a while and had no major issue with it. I wish they would go to CPM154, but I like 154CM better than overrated S30V or rust prone D2.

Given the choice, I'd take a random pick from 95% of Emersons product line over the often worshiped PM2.

I've learned a lot thanks to my CQC-7. Mostly how to make on it better finish than in Emerson customs.

So, the point at which I lost all hope for Emersons wasn't my defective CQC-7B, it wasn't handling piles of them at two big knife stores and finding they all had lock stick or lock rock, it was handling a custom Emerson. The knife in question was very expensive, I don't remember how much but think $2500 or something, it was expensive, and it was labeled something like "full dress" or "tuxedo" or something (it was black and white). Handling it I was amazed to find an assortment of fit and finish issues, and I realized then that if the really expensive Emersons were also poorly made there really wasn't any hope for the brand at all.

Since then it has become possible to buy a quality Emerson but only by cutting Emerson out of the equation via the Kemerson and Zemerson route.
