Your opinions on Nutnfancy

Really, I just watch for the information as well as some insights/opinions. Nothing more, nothing less. Beyond that, I hold in just like any other reviewer out there.

To his credit, despite being long-winded, I find the structured thought pattern he applies in evaluating a product (i.e. - POU, specific categories, in-use contexts) to be quite useful as a reference.

Well, nutnfancy puts quite some effort in his clips (from my own experience, you need to prepare to make a decent review), just as for example a writer would would spend time writing a book. In both cases, I don't mind that the creator earns something for his/her efforts. As long as their output is worthwhile.

As a writer, lecturer/part-time teacher myself, I agree.

He is articulate, informative, and I have justified many of my purchases on information derrived from his opinions. If a 10 minute review is 5 minutes too long with all of his BS, just fast forward till he gets into the meat of the review. We all need to absorb his information as well as cutlerylover, cajonblaze, edgeweapon88, severator etc. so that we can forn our own opinions. But have I purchased a SOG Flash 1??? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

I think his ego has gone out of control.otherwise I liked his older reviews. Honestly I could watch a hr review of a knife if I'm interested in getting it. The problem I have is when the review is 30min and he talks about the knife in question for 7 min

I think nutnfancy, is a really good reviewer, ive bought countless amounts of gear that i needed because he said they were good, and guess what?.. they ALL were =D.. thats y i still watch him...

all the gear and companies have held up to his speech and my expectations ;)

One of the first and almost only vids I saw of the man was when he was trying to chop a tree with a splitting axe.
He hufted and puffed to chop the tree.
He did not have the slightest idea how to use an axe.

And then gave his "humble" opinion of how an axe is not good for the woods

It was embarrasing!!

I think his knowledge about knives is inversely proportional to his knowledge of guns.

I've watched both his gun reviews and his knife reviews. His knife reviews are a joke. he doesn't know what he's talking about, and is just outright wrong many times. He also bias's everything by saying how you'd never use a knife as a weapon and all his other crap - basically stating that if you don't have a gun you should just lay down and die.

He completely fails to understand that everything is a "tool" for the job at hand. He really made me angry when he bashed on the tom brown tracker without knowing anything about the situation or honestly the film itself. He just spewed false information through pt 1 and pt 2.

I watched his gun reviews, and as someone that knows "a little" about guns (i know a bit - I'm an excellent shot with a rifle, but the mechanics of guns are an unknown to me) I find his gun reviews interesting.

For knives - Stay away, he's an idiot
For Guns - listen and absorb and compare to others - he has some valid points.

EDIT: I will say that his posts are well organized, but well organized poop is still...poop.

He is just another source of information. I think he is favors certain companies but it is easy to see through that issue. He sure puts a lot of effort forth. I give him a thumbs up.

I am still amazed that so many people can bear to watch a video review of a knife. I don't have the patience usually. A paragraph or two and a few nice pics conveys the relevant info much faster imo. Anyone who doesn't treat Sal with some of the respect he's earned should be flogged.

I like the Nutnfancy videos.
The upside is that he gives lots of information, covering nearly every aspect of a tool.
The downside is he gives tons of information, producing long videos that often focus on aspects of a tool that I have no use for (SD). The information I do want is always in there though, so the videos are still worth browsing.

That's not his stance. He just doesn't glorify edged combat like Lynn Thompson.

Personally I have watched several of his video's and I would say he is someone who really enjoys his following. I really think this guy is the definition of a mall ninja. I have seen his shooting video's and I will tell you one thing for certain the guy is not an operator of any kind.

Stupid comments, when has he ever claimed to ever be anything other than a USAF Pilot? How is he a mall ninja, im just curious?

His videos have influenced me well on purchases I have made, and he hasn't let me down yet.

Then why do you care what others think about him?? If you like him and find his reviews helpful, why poll others? If you do a search, you'll see there are a LOT of haterz spewing a bunch of hater-aid on this site, as indicated by a 14+ page W/C thread dedicated to bashing the guy. Fact is, when someone does something on the internet and gets a large following of fans, you'll see almost as many haters bashing them, trying to bring 'em down. Jealousy comes in many flavors.

I like to watch him here and there. Like others have stated, if you do not want the long winded parts, just fast forward through them. To me, he expresses an honest opinion that I can take or leave.

FYI, I also like to watch Adam at Equip2Endure as well.

Some people call him a "tacti-cool Mall ninja" and say he has no idea what he is talking about... I like him. His reviews may be long, but as he said, if you don't like them, go elsewhere. I think the longer reviews are easier to gather information from.

His videos have influenced me well on purchases I have made, and he hasn't let me down yet. I also enjoy watching his Run 'n' Gun videos, even though they are "mall ninja" like. He has fun doing, I have fun watching.

What 'bout you?

He suffers from acute depression megalomania, which led articular & manipulate & fake your on persona from the reviews & testing video that he produce,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
My finger is turning green too!

Thats my opinion, like it or not,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

wtf??

I like Nutnfancy. He is expressing his opinion, so take it as that...not necessarily fact. Even if you don't agree with what he says, his point of view is useful in his reviews and allows you to better understand the knife. You can see the knife, understand the features and get a pretty good idea of the knife before you even handle it. With all the online dealers around, his reviews are the next best thing to having a brick and mortar store next door...That allows us to order online for cheap with relatively good understanding of what you are buying. Perfect example is the Combative Edge M1 knife. I've mentioned that knife a couple of times...mainly since I like the features it has and generally agree with Nutnfancy's arguments about the knife. I saw enough there to make me want to buy one...I don't really know if I'd be able to handle one before purchasing it, so that review was good enough for me to make a decision (although the review was a bit long with too much non-knife information in it).

Equip2Endure is good too...so I usually watch both of them if they are reviewing the same knife. I don't agree with all the points of either... but use the review to better understand the knives myself.

he's annoying as hell, loves to hear himself talk, loves the attention and is very obviously suffering from a midlife crisis.

here's an idea...

form an opinion and conduct your own personal review. if you end up disliking your purchase than sell the damn thing on ebay lol.

that's just my opinion of course.
