Your opinions on Nutnfancy

one thing i learned from nutnfancy knife reviews is what to look for in an EDC knife. i'm not really a die hard fan but i feel that he takes time and gives a lot of effort to show viewers his opinions on the pros and cons of a knife. its up to you what info you want to absorb. i try to watch different reviews about a particular knife that i'm interested in from different videos it doesn't matter who makes them.

I like nutnfancy's reviews. He is an interesting combination of warrior-nerd, and his delivery is fast-paced. He loves his toys as I do, and he hones in well on those aspects of the gear that keep things interesting. Its nice to see someone who digs his knives, guns and gear as much as I do, and who can express it in a manner that keeps my attention even over the course of a long video.

Compare his delivery with that of the average youtube reviewer, the latter of which is packed full of silence and "uh . . . " and boredom. I really can't watch anyone else, because its a fast train to snoozeville.

I understand how his personality is not for everyone, but its easy to avoid him for those so inclined. Just don't watch.

Count me as a fan.

I also find him to be quite interesting; I like the quality of his videos that he definitely puts in effort and time in to make. I don't know any others online reviewers who covered as much staff as he had.
I also understand that many people hate on him for various reasons but they are probably the ones who judge others and overlook themselves, so I'm not worried about their opinions.

I find his videos somewhat useful. If I am looking into buying a knife, gun, or piece of gear, his is not the only opinion that I take into consideration. I generally view these videos with specific questions in mind, and sort through the reviews, in hopes that my questions get addressed.

I will say one thing I have noticed in his videos-if there is a product, or type of gear that he doesn't like from the start and already has his mind made up about...he will make sure said item fails during his "nutinfancy clinic". Slamming that fiskars axe into rock laden dirt to chip up the blade is one example. The beating he put that Pocket Bushman through is another.

I have the Gerber Camp Axe by Fiskars, as well as the newer version of the Pocket Bushman, and both are fine products well worth their price-and perform as advertised I might add.

I like his knife reviews and when I research a knife his review is the first I look for, but I read them all. When I got interested in knives two years ago u-tube was the only place to go for reliable knife reviews, I could not handle them here in NJ as they don't have any decently stocked stores that carry knives so I went to u-tube and he was the main knife review person I watched. His opinion about excess knife weight I found to be important and little criticized by other reviewers.

He's a lively reviewer and I really enjoy his detailed videos. I take it as his opinion, as he states himself.
He definitely does not bore me and he has researched a lot of stuff he is talking about.

I'd like him to test with a little less focus on value though. There's fun in using expensive knives too.

for me, he's the only channel I wouldn't unsubscribe off and one who is consistently bringing pretty high quality videos.

I don't have one of those, but IIRC, aren't the problems with that [at least original design] knife well documented?

Yes there was-infact, that defect was why I held off for a while on getting one. The newer ram lock is a tank though. He had a couple of failures with the old style ram lock. IIRC, The second replacement he was given had the newer style ram lock. He proceeded to try and baton it cross ways through a felled tree-hitting it 12 to 6 with the knife at an angle, and then twisting it to remove it. The blade eventually broke, but the lock did hold up-and that is how it was advertised...the blade would fail before the lock.

MR. FANCY hMMMM well i have mixed feelings ...it seems he gives props to the more expensive line of knives and kinda talks down to knives that ( normal ) people can afford and even though i do like the guy that aspect of him seems very annoying.

He has a whole playlist of EDC knives under $40. Some of his best reviewed knives are the Skyline, the CRKT Drifter, the Chill, he CS Roach Belly, and the Victorinox Cadet.

In my opinion, he definitely covers a good chunk of the price spectrum of production knives.

I don't like the guy, but I have seen him give a good review of a Buck 119 that sells for about $40 at wally-world. It does seem that he likes the higher price stuff more, except the Tom Brown Tracker, he didn't like that one. And even though I hate to admit it I agree with him on both. The Buck 119 is in my collection and I wouldn't have a Tom Brown Tracker if they paid me.

come on he spraypainted a 20 dollar knife. engraved it if you can call what he did engraveing.used a sharpy to sign the box.and then tryed to sell them to the rubes he calls his tnprs.it was the most pathitic vid i ever saw.then his sister must have taken it down.i think she must have known how bad it made him look. it was comical

His emphasis on value is strong, so I think it's the other way around. TNP does more vids on cheaper [but not junk] blades.

He didn't have the TB Tracker in hand, so that wasn't his best moment.

I appreciate his take on knifes and guns. For me it's not the gospel, just another opinion. A lot of people that will put him down would not dare make a video themselves. I don't get why some get so upset with him.
