your purchase list so far 2018

updated my list.

G&G hawk auto
ZT0456

I'm trying to keep my knife purchases to a minimum at this point and these are 2 I just can't live without lol.

Small 21 CF Inlay damascus , it will happen when the time is right
A few more Busse , well maybe a lot more
and that custom Emerson 6

This will be the year of classics that I don't own but should have as a knife knut! Poke fun all you want I can take it. I don't own many great classics and I know it's unacceptable! So here we go!
1: Buck 110 been putting it of because when I handle them they feel to heavy for belt carry.

2: Ka-bar USMC

3: A Victorinox Alox Farmer (due to my dear love of Leatherman) I've only owned one used and blades/tools wouldn't open. I like that LM will warrantee it.

4: A decent puukko looking at Martinni then Helle

5: A genuine Okapi I love my Cold Steel Kudu need to get a real one.

6: A Svord wood handle peasant knife

7: Last but NOT least! I really want an American made Schrade slipjoint!

Just bought a Kershaw Knockout with the OD green handle. Arrives today along with my ZT 0801ti

ZT 0462
Kizer Theta
WE Zeta (depending on final price)
Spyderco Smock (depending on blade steel)
Spyderco Amalgam, maybe

And I am always on the prowl for the right Koenig Arius

5: A genuine Okapi I love my Cold Steel Kudu need to get a real one.

I want to respect the forum rules when talking about knife dealers (and I sure don’t want to get in Dutch with our administrators) so I will tread lightly here.

Err, um... I found a specific dealer on a popular online auction service who sold me the best Okapi I’ve owned. Some of my other examples have poorly machined woodwork or the inlay is discolored and looks almost rusted. My newest find has none of these problems AND it’s the only Okapi I’ve received that has a working edge out of the box.

If you look at the Okapi knife reviews on that site I think you’ll find the dealer I’m talking about. I feel that it was worth the extra few bucks just to not have to reprofile the edge so it would actually cut. It still has that funky ridge on the handle wood but that’s my only issue with the knife.

I've been a budget minded collector for a little while focused mainly on Mora's and Buck's. I have a couple custom fixed blades in the hundred dollar range. I like to find cool knives at great prices. Anyway, I decided to upgrade my EDC and so far this year:
1. Benchmade Crooked River
2. Kershaw Blur (already cut myself twice with this lol!!)
3. Benchmade Griptilian (on the way)

I also got a Ken Onion Work Sharp for Christmas. I'm still in the learning phase with this machine and I dare not attempt to sharpen an expensive knife on it just yet.

I think I'm done for a while but there is a gun/knife show at my club in March. I'll prolly buy another fixed blade custom for $100 from my local knife maker.

Just ordered a Cold Steel American Lawman CTS XHP Coyote Tan 58ALVB that was $40 cheaper than the black handled one. Should be here in a week from the west coast.

I'm reverting to the past this year,
JYD11 1725cb
Boa 1580 cpm440v (s60v)
Swached 855 04 (red)

No list ready at the moment but I just pulled the trigger for the first one: Native 5 maxamet

Shot show has some interesting design but nothing that really appeal me so much as to make a list out of it.
But shall ZT offer a 0560 with an improved steel, I will give it a try :)

So far,,,
6 GEC 78s. Everything about this model appeals to me so I went for 6 different covers. All single blades.
1 used Spyderco Manix 2 off the exchange from a fellow Canadian. I am impressed with this knife but have not carried it yet.
I have a Case Bermuda Green Jigged bone Copperlock on order that should arrive early next week.
I picked up a Buck Companion in the Chairman cherry wood covers. I wanted a small made in America Buck. This is one of the discontinued Buck 300 series models. Sad to see them go.

Now I am looking at a Tribal Lock from Case.

Yikes,,,better slow down. It is still January.

ZT0620
CS Recon 1
ESEE 6
Endura 4
Native 5

That’s about it for me for a while.

Wait, my birthday is coming up!

I started things off with a new Todd Begg Steelcraft Field Marshal in Thor-pattern Damasteel. I also purchased a tiny "claw" fixed blade from one of the makers I follow on IG. My third purchase of the year just arrived today, an Emerson Custom Vindicator. Now I will start putting money aside for June. All is well in the knife world!

1. Case Hunter (Assisted Opening)
2. Kershaw Leek (Red/Black)
3. CRKT Crossbones
4. Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2
5. Spyderco Vallotton Lil' Sub-Hilt
6. Benchmade Grizzly Ridge
7. Benchmade Bugout (another one)
8. Spyderco Caribbean Leaf

No guarantees I'll end up with all of these come December 31st (in fact, I almost certainly won't), but the knives on my 2018 purchase list in no particular order (other than the mini Crooked River being at the top of the list) are:

- Benchmade Mini Crooked River (Super excited to have this one in my hands ASAP) and maybe a full (regular?) sized Crooked River from the Benchmade Custom Shop

- Spyderco Native 5 Fluted Carbon Fiber S90V
- Spyderco PM2 Brown G-10 S35VN Sprint Run (I already have both the older brother and the younger, pudgier, less attractive younger sibling, so why not round out my collection to include the classic trio?)
- Benchmade 943 (I love my 940, and being the kind and caring person that I am, I don't want it to get lonely sitting in my drawer lying beside the Spydies and ZTs on the occasions where it's not getting attention in my pocket)
- Benchmade 707 Sequel (whichever model is still in stock whenever I get around to buying it, hopefully I can nab one without a serrated blade)
- Spyderco Caly 3 Green G-10 HAP40 Sprint Run OR Spyderco Dragonfly 2 Lightweight Burnt Orange HAP40 (I'm hoping to continue to feed my smaller blade kick that I've been on the last ~6 months)
- Zero Tolerance 0450CF (The obvious addition to compliment my ZT 0452CF)
OR
Instead of the previously listed six knives, I'll instead save up for either a
- Chris Reeve Small Inkosi Insingo with a black micarta inlay
or some iteration of a
- Chris Reeve Small Sebenza

Update:
I now have a 0450CF in my possession (and first impressions are that I love it and will be hanging on to it for a while) and I'm now waiting on the arrival of a Benchmade 707BK that I purchased yesterday.
