ZDP-189 Lum Chinese folder.

Well looking at the Spyderco Forums I found some nice info.

Lum Chinese, Black Almite Handles, ZDP-189 Blade estimated release around Oct/Nov.

Carlos, it's more like Cats than Cat. A LOT of good stuff coming out.

Glad I get my annual review in March as my raise will be going to Spyderco it seems.

The black scales do not interest me at all.I would have bought one for the HA lll scales no matter what blade steel was used.

Oh, I'll probably still get one.
Wait, did I say "probably?"
I missed the first run, with those nice green handles, so I'll definitely get one of these (ZDP! ZDP! ZDP!). :D

I agree on not being as enthused about the Black Almite, would of preferred the HAIII. Still, since I don't own a Lum Chinese and the new one will have ZDP-189, I will get one without a doubt.

Yeah, I also have second thoughts. Guess the final decision was Bob Lums? I did not think their a lot of black enthusiasts. Oh well..

Do I detect note of disappointment in the choice of color? I had expected to be flamed for my post and, instead, find agreement.

Black handles? :barf: Well, I guess I can take the blade out and put into one of my green or blue Chinese folders... :)

Gotta wait till I see it in person before I pass judgement, but with that exquisite blade shape and handle, I'm pretty sure black's gonna be fine.

I guess we see eventually what it looks like but my initial reaction is "Black? What where they thinking?". :grumpy:

   :D *I would have liked the "surefire" color.

I have to agree. Black Almite is a poor choice.

That doesn't mean it won't sell, it is just a disappointment.

Hard Anodizing on a sprint run would have been good.

That's going to look really bad when it starts to wear on the sharp edges.

But then, I'd buy one if it was pink poka-dotted against a lime green background!!!

I was undecided about getting one, but the black handles make it a definite no. Black is to scary to carry at work and that is where I use my knives 90% of the time. A black delica or a para get strange looks. A grey calypso jr or R2 go unnoticed.
