Zero Tolerance Current/Upcoming/Discontinued Models

0470 is in route to dealers per zt.

I would assume very few dealers will fill pre orders first so keep an eye out for them to be in stock and grab one.

Also lightly spine whack on a roll of tape clear your fingers out the way. If it fails, exchange it and let the dealer know why.

Unfortunately they went with the CF on just one side approach (as expected) gonna be a pass for me. I don't think I'll ever get a knife with a "blank" lockside again it just looks unfinished to me. Aside from that it looks like a decent knife in terms of size and shape.

I picked up a 470 on Saturday from a local shop and its amazing! I know people are upset that its only got CF on the lockside but how is it any different than buying a framelock with a CF, Timascus or any other non Ti show side:rolleyes: There's A LOT of internal milling and a fair amount of detail in the milling. The handles are a glass bead blasted finish that leaves a nice subtle shine to them. Honestly it feels like a little budget Shiro and has the same acoustics that my Shiro F3r had:thumbsup: So yeah, ZT did good with this and yeah... I'd pay 300 for one of these with CF on both sides and a matching bead blasted Ti back spacer:D

Damn that looks nice. How's that clip? I really don't like the looks of it, but it looks like a Hinderer style will work.

The clip works great. I prefer spring clips over milled and I'm happy that ZT went with a spring clip.

New production/catalog model ZT 0470 is in stock at some dealers now.

Both the ZT 0470 ($240) and Kershaw Atmos ($30) are Sinkevich designs. The Atmos has CF on both sides although it's a liner lock.

If the Atmos had the same dimension as the 0470 I'd probably buy one as a beater work knife. But 3 inch is too small for my taste.

Cons:
Edge grind is uneven but its EXTREMELY sharp and the blade where the swedge is cut is a little sharp. The knife felt a little dry from factory so I took it apart to clean and relube it. I'd say the dryness was basically a lack of lube on the detent ball/track. Yes it would've been nicer to have CF on both sides... BUT then we'd be looking at a knife that costs closer to 300.
Kinda "Nick picky" things.

Also... Can't compare an Atmos to a 470. Smaller, Much worse steel, A SLIVER of cheap CF, G10 and a small piece of steel for lock up. I'm not knocking the Atmos as it's a solid budget knife. It's just that they're two completely different knives. A 370z may share some similarities with a GTR but it's NOT a GTR.

Man, that flipper tab is tiny. Is it ez for your finger to slip off or is the jimping such that it grabs well? Can’t stand flippers prone to misfires.

It's got the right amount of jimping on the flipper. Just push down on the front portion of the flipper and your golden. It does a decent job catching your finger even if you do a swiping light switch motion a cross the tab

Perfect. I’m in! This knife screams Anodize me. May wait to see what JDCutlery does with it, but will get one.

I got my 0470 today but i am returning it. first off its smaller than i expected (smallest by far in my edc rotation) its smaller than my protech tr3 and my BM 940-1501

it was also crazy tight in the pivot (barely opened) (took a torx #6 and PLIERS) and has wheel marks on the tip (like 25%)
worst ZT i have ever received in the mail (next closest was a 0393 with the same wheel marks (scratches) near the tip)

will not be buying it again.. too small for my liking (BM 940 is as small as i go and better f&f)

another gripe your thumb wants to sit on that slippery marbled CF insert and flipping this knife i dropped it no less than 4 times (luckily on carpet) (the only grippy surface is a touch of jimping on the top back of blade)

Except the Atmos and 470 are the exact same knife... just different materials and sizes. Its pretty obvious. A better analogy would be a 370z and a 350z. Same car (for the most part), different displacement.

Mine is also going back for exchange. Tip grind is terrible and it's off center enough to nearly be touching the show side scale. Feels like ZT rushed these out the door, first poorly fit ZT I've ever received.

Reminds me of the 0780, they rushed it out and most had problems. I had two one was pretty good the other a pos. Sent it back and ZT couldn't even fix it, had to give me credit for a new different knife as the 0780 was discontinued almost as soon as it came out.

Having seen some info on the 0470, I have a few thoughts.

If the 0609 never existed, I’d probably see this knife as a revelation: thin blade by ZT standards, long cutting edge relative to the handle length, easy to carry. Not that the 0470 isn’t appealing in its own right, but since I own the 0609, I wonder what this offers that’s substantially different. I get that some people are upset about the proprietary pivot and delayed availability of the opening tool for the 0609. I got the pivot tool but haven’t yet found a reason to use it.

The two knives have similar dimensions and general blade design. In keeping with other recent Sinkevich designs, the 0470’s flipper tab is pretty small. How is it in use? Is the 0470’s weight 3.3 oz in the same way that ZT says the 0609 is 3.3 oz, meaning it’s actually 3.6 oz?

The 0609 surprised me with how well it fit my XL hand. How does the 0470 grip compare? I’d love to hear from someone who owns and uses both knives.

The 609 is infinitely better in my opinion.. the 0470 has a hollow feeling to it . Reminds me of old Kershaw's. And the carbon fiber is slippery. The 609 surprised me also and the only 2018 zt I'm actually keeping this year
