Maybe I misunderstood - I thought Scurvy92 was implying that some had slipped into the public through unknown channels. I'm assuming that the ones for sale on eBay are ones obtained either direct from KAI or from overseas (where they were released already).

Anyone who got caught up in the 454 mess got a chance to buy an 0392 early, myself included. One dude put up a pic of the label with the serial # in it in the eBay ad so if ZT wants to know who's who, they got that guy's number...

I think it is a very nice knife, but kind of a bummer that it is an LE because it is a great mid-size knife, flips really easily and smoothly and fits nicely in the pocket. For a $250.00 production version, it would be an easy sell, but the $375.00 LE version that may or may not go up in value, well, I think I'll just use mine.

My other use ZT's have always been 100% reliable and so I suspect this one would be no different.

Kind of on the fence over the flipping thing. I guess if someone wants one bad enough to pay an outlandish price, hey, it is a free country. But on the other side of that same coin, $1500.00 for a knife we just got for $325.00 (if you used the $50.00 voucher from the 454 Clstr Fk) seems a bit greedy. So, I would simply decide not to buy from that person, laugh out loud and move on. Either way it has no effect on my life other than to spur a little internet conversation. And like I said, kind of the fence in regards to this issue.

Nice knife though.

Makes sense if accurate. 530PM Pacific means most if not all dealers will be closed for the day and you all can't bug errr BEG until tomorrow morning.
 
I have only seen one for sale on the forums, maybe the guy bought it secondhand?

My guess... he got a few other buddies (at different addresses) to try to buy a 0454 for him. They might have missed 0454 but were given an early shot at the 0392 instead.
 
When are they going to release the list of dealer? I still haven't received anything, nothing on social media or on the website. UGH

I think I'm gonna let this one pass, perhaps next time around zt will get their sh!t together.

I mean, its not like you can't check the list when you get up at 3am for work. Seeing the list at 8:30 and seeing the list 15 minutes before the dealer opens is literally no difference...

I was going to make a list of the major dealers I wanted to contact, along with numbers/info.
What if I contact one dealer and they're out? What's my plan B? Or C, D, etc...

Also with my job, I never know what I'll be doing next so I don't have time to go Internet-knife-hunting all morning. Way too much work for a knife that really isn't anything special, ZT has switched things up too much for my liking.

Even the 0454 was a headache to get, which I thought that was poorly executed too, due to the whole shopatron thing. I hate indecision, which ZT seems to be good at.
 
The 0392 looks awesome, but this BS from ZT is getting tiresome. From the conversations I have had with two dealers, ZT is not making their channel happy with these antics either. For a company that has done such an awesome job managing their brand and bringing great products to market, the way they have released this product is really disappointing.

ZT, I know you are reading this. You dropped the ball and need to do a much better job with LE releases in the future.

I waste my time trying to get a knife I might not get. Sure it's a nice knife, but far from one of my grails. I really only wanted it to mod it.

I'd rather just keep my money and put it towards one of the customs on my want-list, at least I know I can get one of those with patience, and not being in a rush.
