Gentlemen, would it be possible to get back on the topic. Or is this thread already too far gone? :rolleyes:
 
I have an on topic question - I didn't realize until I saw BHQ's listing today that it was the "working finish" - anyone who has one in hand or seen one in person know how similar it is to RHK's working finish?

I have to second this. GPKnives is the only high end knife shop near my location and they are a small business with very friendly and helpful employees and ownership that will bend over backwards to make sure their customers are happy. I initially was trying to buy an 0392 from them today and couldn't access the site either, and I don't blame them one bit.
 
Thanks to bladeforums.com I found out GPknives went down right away so when I got home at 2pm est I gave it a shot and got lucky. Thanks guys :)

I wish, I refreshed GPKnives all afternoon it kept saying it was available but would not let me put it in my cart. When it finally did, I got all the way to check out before it told me it was not available : (
 
That's persistence. Congratulations to the ones who scored a knife through GPKnives. I don't think anyone was really prepared for the amount of traffic they'd receive, especially GPKnives; once everyone else sold out I'd imagine all of the 0392 traffic suddenly redirected to GPKnives, further exacerbating the problem.

My precious ZT? I don't own ZT or have any affiliation with them. I own like two ZTs.

What I'm a fanboy of is rational thought, logic, and proper English.
 
I actually got to score one of off House of Blades during class and on my phone:cool:
5 hours later... get an email from them saying I got refund back. Looks like I didn't score one... :confused::grumpy:

So it seems the individuals that got theirs early from ZT due to the 0454 issues were barred from getting one today. Maybe that is what the "Do not sell to" list was about.

I thought the USA was a capitalist economy:thumbdn:

Wonder how many people scored multiple knives from the different sites.
 
I was not able to take time off work this morning to order one so sadly I did miss out :(

I am confident though that had I been on the PC during release that I would have scored one.

Congrats to those who got one and I hope they release future variations of this so guys like me can eat too.
 
Ok, I've seen pictures of the working finish before but never actually asked - exactly what is the working finish? As far as I can tell, it looks similar to what some people call an acidwash, in that the finish looks darkened/etched with acid and then stonewashed afterwards. Am I right in my guess, or is it something else entirely?

Maybe there's someone who owns a RHK with working finish who also scored an 0392; I'd love to see the two side by side to see how close ZT got to RHK's working finish.

Actually this thread was about the secondary value of the 0392 which quickly turned into a 'let's continue griping about the sale' thread. No one is talking about how much they like the because only like 2 forum members have then and neither have checked in.
