ZT 0452 lock up

And I think you can readily realize that example is completely different than this one. There is a long history of this sort of thing here. Go look it up, I won't get into it here. Jill is not some noob. Jill knows knives very well and she knows this knife is not acting as expected, and I agree. Send it in or send it back to the dealer. Hopefully this gets locked up until we get a result from ZT looking at Jill's knife.

Again, see the above. She knows it is not functioning the way she wants, and I agree. Asking a question and stirring the pot are different things though.

You are making this way more complicated than it needs to be. Different situations but still the same method of obtaining information (note I say information not truth or fact), aka asking a question on forum... Whoda thunk!

Opinions...hmmm...I have a great one. :)
The knife is obviously terribly defective, and past any hope of warranty work; the only safe, sane course of action is to send it to someone crazy enough to handle such dangerous goods...me!

Naw...you'd probably cut yourself. [emoji13][emoji15][emoji106]🏻

Some here think that only "praise threads" should be made about certain brands. If you have a problem with a model of those brands, it should be kept to yourself and only talked about after you are 100% happy with the outcome. Then of course the thread becomes another "praise thread" about how well the company took care of you and how happy you are.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread. I hope everyone involved sends their knife in and are satisfied with the results.
I would rather look at bladeforum than I would at porn... Maybe I'm just getting older...

Its called knifeporn for a reason... Just as addicting and a million times more expensive.

It's the same price as porn, if all you do is look. (porn is pretty much free these days, same price to look at knives) It's when you go buying either one, (women or knives) that things get expensive. :D

And the stirring continues.

We have people here of all different types. Fanboys, haters, even some logical folks who don't buy into either mode of thinking. What doesn't make sense is starting a thread, asking about an issue that one knows is an issue only to stir things up rather than actually be interested in having the problem taken care of one way or another. And then continuing to make posts about people who only praise certain brands which in no way has anything to do with the OP, and serves to only further stir things up. But hey, that is just one certain persons opinion.

This thread is going no where now. The choices are quite clear. This is just further meaningless arguing and line drawing. Pointless.

Might as well send the knife to stabby and see if he can cut his hand off....

Ok, since this thread has gone this long, I thought I may as well test what I have handy here at the office. I pulled a Spyder Domino...lock hardly moved. A ZT0770CF (yeah, liner, I know) just for fun, had to use my fingernail, but hardly moved. ZT0450, and sure enough, lock bar slid all the way over with a little force. But still with normal flipping, always lands between 50-60%. Fortunately, even with it all the way over, it didn't take much extra force to bring it back.

I was just notified that my 452CF backorder should be shipping today or tomorrow, so I'm a little curious to see how my lock compares to others. But not really concerned about it because all of my ZT's have been more than acceptable for the price, and design intentions. Of course there have been little things I might like to have changed on a model or two, but that is why there is a variety. Have not yet found the "be all end all" knife just yet, but since I'm a knife "accumulator" (code for hoarder ;) ), that would just be boring.

Oh I'll take care of the problem alright and let you know how it turns out. Stabby would probably stab himself, with a pointy blade like that I'd think tho..

One other question: what's the pivot tension like?
On a CQC-12 I had, if the pivot was loose, the lock-bar could easily go almost to the other side.
When the pivot was tight, the lock-up was good, and didn't move much at all.

Basically, the loose pivot allowed the blade to tilt a tad, making for a very flat surface for the bar to slide across (ramp tilted till it was straight across, pretty much).
