@Rival - My point is that I was completely relaxed about the process and my place in it, until *they* brought up this nebulous idea of a "squatter glitch" in the context of orders being rejected for various reasons. Up until they planted that seed of doubt, I have been very complimentary on how the process was run. And heart burn was just a figure of speech, if it wasn't clear.

I agree we aren't entitled to inner workings at ZT, but I also think it's not a good idea for them to say what they said without giving us the full picture. It just breeds FUD. That was my main point.

Unfortunately that is one thing they are avoiding with the new system, by selling direct and after production is completed they don't have to scramble with M390 "mop-up runs" to fulfill exiting/promise orders.

I really dont see the concern with focusing on this point either. The 'Squatter Glitch' to me is something worth addressing since i actually did not expect people to logon at that exact time to just 'try out' the system with no intention of actually making a purchase. Lets just overload a system that is brand new to try it out!!?? There was no point in doing that at this exact time when so many others were trying to actual buy a 0454 so I actually think that was worth mentioning.

In fact, the people who did login just to 'see how the system worked' fubared the system for the rest of us IMO given how few knives there were, the fact this was a whole new process, and how long of a wait it has been to actual get the ability to purchase the 0454.

I'd gladly trade my incoming 0454 for a M390 + $ difference at cost. IMO the plain blade looks so much better on that knife.
 
There are about 40 of us here on this thread discussing the issue and lamenting the process. That leaves another 230 or so buyers that are going about their day without a care in the world.

Ya.... All the speculation, blaming, whining, crying, bitching here is MUCH better.... LOL :)

Were there glitches...........yes
Will they be worked out.....yes
Was this sale a success......I think so!
Will all the whining help......no

People just need to chill and let ZT do their thing. Everyone will know soon enough.

FYI - I am in the same boat as you all..........waiting to see if I got one!!
 
I just got a message saying that mine was canceled for holding it in my cart more than 15 minutes. I finished my entire checkout in 4 minutes. I never added any additional items to my cart. This is very frustrating.

Had they already charged you and switched your status to "Shipping Soon"?
 
I think a lot of people have the "Shipping Soon" notification on their order. I haven't followed this nailbiter thread from beginning to end, but I don't recall anyone saying they have been charged save for possiblt one or 2 people. Meh.
 
They charged me yesterday and switched my status to shipping soon. I've had the same status all day today.

No further emails from consumersales@kai-usa.com since order was placed on 9/30/2014 at 18:04:27 PT. Shortly after order was placed the status changed to "Shipping Soon" (also current status) and CA sales tax was added. Additionally, Credit Card was charged $548.25 (CA Tax included) by "SHOPTRN KAI KNIVES".

So far no news is good news but I'll rest easy once I get my grubby hands on the precious. :D
 
I show a charge on my paypal for 510... I think it if seems you got one then you are good. I placed my order at 9:18 MST

I snagged one even though I said I wouldn't...

I think the process went fairly smooth and made getting such a collectible knife easy. Only gripe is the high price I guess it is the retail price...?
 
Mine has been "Shipping Soon" since very shortly after I completed the checkout but as of right now I checked my credit card and there's only a pending charge. I'm not sure if that's normal two days later. At first I wasn't really worried but now I'm getting nervous. The wait is driving me nuts.
 
I placed my order at about 8:45PM PDT (website showed 1 left) and it's said "Shipping Soon" since I placed the order, I paid via Paypal + CC and the payment shows completed in Paypal and my card has been charged.
