My new EDC. #216. My father in law scored one also(#313) so I included it in the picture. Really surprised by the light weight.

Risky business.

And "bigmark"...ah heck never mind. What a bunch of illogical nonsense.

More people had opportunity. That's a fact. I call that a win for the "community".

You couldn't get these at dealers, so your logic is flawed. Try again. Thanks for playing.

I know you couldn't get these at dealers. I was responding to someone asking how the new system is better.

The older LEs were indeed at dealers. So no need for the smartass comments towards me.

What a crock of sh*t, most of us dont have a "brick and mortar shop" within a days drive. If it wasnt for online sales we wouldnt even be able to get knives. You dont like the system we get it lol get over it.

Sucks to be you and you will never understand....it's much bigger than pocket knives.

The limited edition knives are what 3% of KAI's business? Dealers can still get every other knife they make, as many as they want. Your logic makes no sense, a business isn't going to go under because they don't get the LE knives, get real.

And you get your facts where ?....lol. :-)

You were one of the lucky ones this time , the old system luck you may have got it cheaper as dealer cost would have been half.

After the DLC Tilt, even knowing a dealer well and having the "in", I was only able to get MAP or just over MAP for the LE ZT offerings, and most of the dealers that I am aware of were selling closer to MSRP.

I could not find any dealers under MSRP, infact most were almost DOUBLE MSRP on the 888 max and 390.

Your " facts" are correct (LOL).

Please tell all how many were sold and how many did not get one ? Hundreds ? Thousands ?

Obviously all were sold. No one will ever know how many rot one vs. how many wanted or tried to get one.

Really? Every 0454 made available for sale in North America was sold. The rest of the folks living in North America that didn't get one are whoever's left. A few hundred million?

Think this crap has already been hashed out. Not interested in your political rants find another forum for that please.

They should be calling KAI and bitching them out.

Easy -

Over 290 sold

Approx 7,125,000,710 will not get one.

The real people that are impacted are the folks who don't have internet, eh?

I'll pass on this one and let all you guys have at it... but I call dibs on the 0392. It's really a 'Must' have knife for me. Coming up with strategies on acquiring the knife right now.

Point is if 400 were sold and thousands did not get one then why is this system better for the patrons ?

How is it better for patrons if the same thing happens and brick and mortor stores, where only limited numbers of walk in patrons can actually get a knife?

What really happens is those dealers sell their LE's for MSRP or over to people over the internet. They may have rare occasions where someone locally has the scrill to pony up, but most local people are buying Benchmade knives at MSRP at their local gun store slash knife shop.

Then, some of those local dealers went directly to the 'bay, eliminating the "patron" who was now able to get one from ZT directly for MSRP and now has it listed on ebay for 2 times the MSRP or more.

In reality, with that scenario, the "patron" wins big, they get to rape the next person and then pocket enough cash to buy the next LE and do it over again.

Do you think dealers were not allowed to order one through Kai on the web site? I would bet many did and now those will show up on the auction sites for Jack - the - Flipper prices.

Either way you go there will be people that get screwed that just really wanted the knife to keep for their own.
