*edit*

Woops. Double post. Dunno what caused that to happen. Anyway, might as well mention, I was lucky enough to snag #0090. I wasn't entirely sold on the design when it was announced, but I figured if I didn't like it I could at least make my money back. Now that I have it in hand, I'm very tempted to just throw it in my pocket. I would EDC it in a heartbeat if it weren't a limited edition knife, along with all that that means (no spare parts, for example).

This happens because the CF isn't entirely smooth (try wiping it down with a microfiber cloth, it catches a little here and there). Just the nature of CF I guess (I polished the scale on my 0562CF and it still grabs a little when I use microfiber to wipe it).[/QUOTE

Yeah I do not see this as a problem

Nor do I, just pointing it out. I polished the CF on my 0562CF not because it grabbed cloth hairs but because the CF on my particular knife was rather uneven, with a very large void in the middle of the scale. Rather than send it back to ZT and be 0562CF-less for a while (I'm impatient like that), I filled the void with superglue then sanded it flush with the scale and polished it all with mother's mag.

I really like the matte finish ZT uses on their CF though. It looks really good with contouring, like on the 0454.

- I carry my ZT0777 BLK a good amount of the time and use it whenever I have a chance. I don't do anything abusive to it and love cutting things with it. Life is too short to not use the very best things you can afford.

Not to mention that there are always new "limited" edition designs around the corner.

Too expensive to EDC? It cost less than half of my top 2 EDC knives. Carry on.

Everything is relative. In some parts of the world you can get a car for that money. If a guy says it's too expensive for him - it is, no need to flaunt your bigger budget. It contributes nothing positive or constructive to the subject. Just saying.

I agree, it's pretty tasteless.

I flipped mine as the package was dropped off at my door...I have no reason to have a knife this expensive that I would never use to cut anything, plus it's just to large to edc

You really should have let someone who actually wanted the knife get it for MSRP...enjoy your money. There's a lot more to life than that.

Never mind, post I was quoting changed.

However, not to waste a post: this heated discussion boils down to 2 things: one doesn't always get what one wants, one is free to sell or buy at a profit or at a loss as long as the supply and demand curve sustains it.

Yes, some bought it just to flip it and yes some (like me) did not get a chance to buy it BUT that is capitalism. Get over it guys, it is what it is. If everyone got everything they wanted how they wanted it... Sounds silly, right? Let it go already.

To those who bought the knife to own at MSRP - good for you, really. To those who bought it to flip - good for you as well. Finally, to those who will now have to buy it at inflated prices - good for you, as the demand you are a part of will ultimately dictate the price and if the price is right you get a chance to get one (or several). What is wrong with that? I mean s#%t, I miss a few hundred sales and great deals every day, so do you - how is this any different?

Example: I just bought one off someone who decided to flip it. He is happy. I am happy. Had every one of these knives been bought just by those that never intended to sell - well then I wouldn't be able to get one, right? In the end supply and demand balances it all out and everything ends up in the right hands. If anyone here made a mistake it's ZT - for setting the price too low. I hope they learn from it.

I can't wait to get it tomorrow. I am anxious to see how it compares to my shirogorov mod 95. I doubt it compares flipping wise, then again I think my shirogorov w/ srbs is one of the best if not the best flipper action out there. I think the zt 0454 will be very similar with the ergos, but that is just speculation until tomorrow night. Come on UPS man

I just opened mine....stunning. An absolutely gorgeous sample of a brilliantly executed knife. In my opinion, a better piece than the 0777.

How is the CF? Smooth on the edges? What about the bevel? Uniform and symmetrical? Centering? I agree, the design is spot on - very Iron Man - ish. Love it.

Find the sharp edges and use some 2000 grit sandpaper, works great.

Are you on drugs Sir?? If you aren't, you should be. How dare you disparage the 0777 ??

S/N 219 here. Mine's pictured with a Les George Talos for comparison. It's a surprisingly long knife - it's even a tad bit longer than an open balisong like my BM51.

Sheesh, these things are already selling north of 1000 on egay, with a few under. If I had to get rid of mine, I'd trade it for something else rare rather than flip it for gain.
