Zt0450

I walked into BladeHQ today to ask them if I could just prepay for one because I keep missing them - just when they made the few they had today available, total dumb luck. I've been messing with it all day, and I think I may have found my perfect edc knife, I love it! I see they are sold out yet again.

I have the 0900 and the 0450. The 0450 is considerably more difficult to flick open then the the 900, is this normal?

I have both as well. My 900 has a considerably stronger detent than my 0450. Just the opposite from you. However, what I found is that variation is normal (seems ironic coming from a company called ZERO TOLERANCE). When Recon 1 told me they had 0450s in stock I asked them to hold one for me. Tamar said she had 5 left at the time. I asked if she would open them all and flip them, then hold the one that flips the best for me. I wasn't really sure she would do this for me, but I asked anyway... When I came in to pick it up she said "OMG it's a good thing you asked me to flip all of these before I held one for you....they were all different and the difference between the easiest and the hardest was extreme."

I haven't taken either of mine apart yet to see if there is something I can do to "massage" the detents on my 0900 but I bet if someone has some info on what can be done to fix the really sticky ones there's probably a lot of people that would like to know.

The flipper tab on the 0900 is enormous compared to the 0450. This aids the average user in deployment.

As for the 0450, as long as your middle finger rests in the indentation of the pocket clip, you should be fine.

The new ZT models have a stiffer detent. This was done deliberately. You just need to make sure you're not putting any pressure on the lockbar.

Congrats on your awesome knives! Some pics wouldn't hurt ;)

Finally got mine. Absolutely love it.

Mine just arrived. The only thing holding me back from declaring this my favorite knife is that my fingers won't all fit in the grip. The handle is easily long enough, but my pinky just floats awkwardly on the sharp edge at the tail of the knife. It's disappointing that such a great design just doesn't fit my hands comfortably.

I wish ZT had made it the same size as the 0452. The 0452 is my favorite!

I really like my 0450 even though it took some getting use to...small, and have to avoid contact with the lock-bar or the added pressure on the detent ball makes a flip difficult if not impossible.
Being left handed it's my most dangerous knife ever. The blade is so easy to close that as a lefty I have to cross in front of the blade with my left thumb to depress the frame lock and the blade free falls and if I'm not paying attention...it's band-aid time.

I like your lanyard. Got my tied with a light blue Diamond Knot but it's just a little out of place looking.

Anybody else kinda hating the grind lines on the primary of the blade? Idk it just looks a bit cheap to me....

I feel like a nice satin would have taken this knife to a whole new level

I like it. Gives it some personality by setting off the lightly blasted area next to the swedge and spine jimping.

Just got an email yesterday afternoon that mine has shipped and will arrive Monday. I'm really looking forward to this after getting impatient waiting on a preorder. Hopefully, this is the EDC "upgrade" I've been looking for after years of carrying mostly cheapies.

Is anyone else having issues with their pivot loosening? Mine started out slightly favoring the presentation side but over the course of an hour of fondling the knife it had worked its way so far over that the blade was rubbing the lock side. I disassembled the knife and put it back together with a lot of Locktite, let it cure for 12 hours, but quickly had the exact same issue.

I also tried the thread locking tape (can't think of what it's called for the life of me) that I usually put in my Benchmades, but it too is loosening right up.
