0770 CF production question

Bah. Got antsy and ordered a 0770. It's my first ZT so I figured I can test it out while I wait for the CF to hit the used market.

I've been eyeballing the aluminum one as well. Great price for what you're getting.

How's the texture of the CF?

Feels much lighter than 0770 AL?

I'm very fond of the aluminum one and have two of them. My 0770CF won't be here until Monday.

Thanks! The CF has a smooth finish, but it still provides good grip (sort of similar to 400-grit sandpaper, but not abrasive, if that makes sense). It feels slightly lighter than the 0770. My kitchen scale says 3.1oz on the 0770CF and 3.7oz on the 0770. I'm keeping it A/O for now. ZT added a little jimping to the flipper, so it's actually much easier to deploy now. No issues at all, in the hour or so I've had the knife in my hands. I have some more side-by-side pics with the 0770 in this thread.

I like the 0770 a lot as well, and the 0770CF pretty much improved on every aspect of an already great knife.

Actually, I like the 0770 assisted. Looking forward to getting my 0770CF on Monday. I'll compare the CF texture to the 0777 and I think it'll be close minus the 3D contouring. Also, not only is the 0770CF lighter than 0770 but all the extra flair (CF, pivot and backspacer) adds a touch of EDC class!

Is that the case? Did anyone get one from KC from this first batch?

I have mine in Pre-order from Knifecenter sinds the 10th of June but still no signs of getting te 0770CF. I e-mailed them today. So hopefully I hear something soon.

It's interesting that I was able to nab one of the ones that BHQ had "in stock" on Thursday (shipping email yesterday) and some who preordered have heard nothing yet. Why would that be?

My 0770CF just arrived. My initial impression is that ZT did a really good job of creating a lightweight, pocketable EDC that remains true to the company's rugged, overbuilt design philosophy. It feels like a lot more knife than its weight would suggest. Its appearance and assisted opening mechanism make it a little too "tactical" to put in the gentleman's knife category IMO, but that's not a bad thing. This is a knife that feels like it wants to be used, not just taken to church on Sunday or stuck in a safe. All in all, I give it :thumbup: :thumbup:
