Just a reach here, but perhaps RD was a little less than impressed with what he thought was a slightly extended assumptuous reply, summarized as, "You manufacturers need to spell out all the details of your broad brushed statements, basically because some of us simpletons think you factory slugs more or less have a 5 day a week 8 hour finger up your nose, all while burning the working hours conjuring up misleading one liners that are contrived to deceive the masses...and until such activity is proven out in detail mind you, your posts/statements have little to no credibility with us".

That about sums it up Thomas. I think I best put my preorder in for one of these 0770CF. Come to think of it, I may end up picking up a second Aluminum 0770. It's good enough to require multiples, yes Sir. I am currently missing some of the ZT M390 goodness though. I do need to get a 0350 in that before they all vanish.
Thanks for the pictures, the piece look to have turned out great. The pivot is a great touch. :thumbup:

Thomas I think your overactive imagination has you on the defense YET AGAIN. And honestly why do you keep prodding if you true intentions are to stay on topic? To me that is indicative of your own abrasive and confrontational tendencies. But that is just ME guessing.

If he wasnt comfortable sharing the information he didnt have to participate in the discussion. And I dont feel he himself exhibits much tact himself when addressing anything other than praise for the company he is affiliated with. If he is not comfortable sharing, he shouldnt share. His reply didnt make sense to me and a couple other people. He opened the door when he chose to reply and that reply being what it was. Being a discussion forum its not out of line to ask what was asked given his response. He again had the choice of whether to share or not share. My "abrasive" post was in reply to what I perceived as a condescending and belittling tone that Thomas exhibits towards anyone not singing praise of him or the company he works for. And as for you, we never see eye to eye on anything. Ever. So for me and you to try and get either of us to see each others opinion is pointless. Especially when one of us has infinite power over the other. You would always win the argument by default.

I simply cannot believe that a forum member would claim to know a product better than the people who actually make it and sell it for a living (for what now, 40 years?) and have the nerve to argue about it with them on the interweb. I mean, wow...

On topic, I can't freaking wait to get my hands on this knife. I hope it comes out soon and I find a couple hundred bucks laying on the sidewalk the day before! haha!

Sharing information is a bonus, not an obligation. that goes for any manufacturer on the forums. Being given a bone (so to speak) then demanding a steak is poor form in my view. Your opinion on another member is noted and already well known. Not everyone likes everyone, we are all human and that is our primary fault. I appreciate your explanation of events, but it's really unnecessary. I'm not going to judge a person based off what they write in a thread. You seem to have forgotten the countless trolls that post utter rubbish just to complain and get attention. I'm not trying to convince you of anything other than maybe some self reflection could be a good idea from time to time, your choice. You seem to have a chip on your shoulder though and not only myself but a lot of people have seen that aspect of your personality. Again, I'm not going to pretend I know you because I don't, you may well be super cool person. I wouldn't know. Oh, and this isn't about winning or losing. It's about maturity and tact. If you perceive someone lacks those qualities that doesn't necessarily give you free reign to act in a similar fashion. You don't need me to point that out.
 
I eagerly opened this topic when I saw it close to the top, hoping for some news on shipping, or the different steel choice, or maybe some more cool pictures.
I appreciate what info KAI has released, and am quite impressed wit their products.
I respect RedDevil, but personally believe he is being too permissive.
PurpleEDC, why not start your own knife company, or go to work for one as a designer?

I'm glad these are gonna be regular production pieces. Hopefully my daughter will stop growing for a year and I can actually afford one :D

There are two variants of the 0566 listed on BladeHQ: 0566BW and 0566BWCF. BladeHQ is taking deposits for the 0566BW so it's likely that it'll show up. As to when, who knows.
 
Great, thanks a lot for the pic of the 0770CF with the 0560BW...I just ordered the 0560BW and will be getting the 0770CF for sure :)

Again, I'm going to just have to say that we will have to agree to disagree I dont feel I was demanding anything. I wasn't asking for the recipe to a secret sauce or the combination to a private safe. He CHOSE to engage in conversation. He was not obligated to. In doing so he provided a statement that did not make sense to me and a few others. I don't think there is anything wrong with asking for clarification. Because again he has the CHOICE to participate, not participate or even simply state he doesn't feel like going into it. I may have my own history but so does he, and in some circles so do you though given your position of authority most wont talk about it unless through private channels. I think you, Thomas and I actually have more in common than we have differences. IMHO all three of us have that abrasive quality and will defend our position with a bitter note. We just fall on different sides of the fence in the argument. But I have never really had a problem admitting that I am not the most agreeable person at times. And If what you say applies to me then it should apply to Thomas as well. I may not have had a right to be "abrasive" but this isnt the first nor will it probably be the last time Thomas exhibited it himself. Though I am the only one you took issue with. Not trying to tell you how to do your job, i'm Just sayin....

I am going to have to go out on a limb and assume you simply skimmed over this whole thread. Its not about a single product or its features nor me thinking I know more about anything to do with their business or how it is run. In fact this whole thing started from me admitting that I didnt understand something and asked for clarification. That is actually completely different than what your implying. In reality the argument isnt even about the information presented but rather how it was presented and then policed after the fact. Wow is right. Thanks for playing though.


On topic though im not really excited for the 0770 as KVT was on of the main draws I had to the original 0777. I am however looking forward to the entry level KVT models like the diskin folder.

Those were the ones I was referencing. I think I will get the 0566bwcf, then change the scales with the 0566 I already have, resulting in a 0566cf and a 0566BW.

Forgive me for answering a question with a question but why would you even ask that? Though I am a knife designer, pimper and will be moving into customs this summer I never said one thing that eluded to me knowing more about designing or making knives. In fact the argument wasnt even about how something is made or designed. Again, someone stated something that didnt make sense to me related to production numbers. I expressed how it did not make sense to me considering the reason given. That is not the same as saying I know more than them. In fact admitting I dont understand something is the exact opposite of claiming to know more that the person in question. Furthermore I will again reiterate that my problem is not so much what was said but how it is said. No matter what I think this has been discussed enough. I dont see a resolution being made. I just hope that if people do wish to continue with this debate that they understand what is being debated to begin with.
 
I don't want to reopen any cans of anything here but... what is this KVT? I don't think I am familiar with the acronym. From the posts here it appears some type of A/O? Just curious what this is, I don't think I've come across it before.

It's a smooth manual flipper action using ball bearings.

KVT is Kershaw Velocity Technology.
