how do u think delta 3v compares to other 3v , is it the best in your opinion ?

No agenda ,I asked you a very simple question in which a simple answer should be givin. I will ask one more time and let's see if you can answer it. Has anyone ever been scammed by them ? And if I wanted glowing opinions I would not have brought my question to GKD. I really wanted to know what everyone thinks of this company. Also I genuinely wanted to know if anyone had actually been taken for money and or product that's all

^ I've followed a few thread's involving Survive!, over the past couple years. One thing I'm pretty certain of (and by no means am I a fan- nor do I own any Survive! knives): they have never scammed a member on this forum.

One of the last member's who started a thread, complaining over long wait times, was issued a refund in a couple to three days. Anyone who has ever requested a refund, has been given one.

As you already well know: if you want one of their highly coveted knives, be prepared to possibly wait a very long time.

That's my take as well. Just not worth the effort when there are so many well made knives available.

To me, this suggests they are operating on people's capital with little to no financial cushion. I see no problem with ordering a knife from them without pre-payment.

my experience was very positive with Survive! Of course this was early on: I ordered a prototype of the GSO 5 in 2011 and didn't pay until it was ready to ship. In 2013 I ordered a GSO 4.1 and delivery very fast, though there was a little delay on the sheath. Guy was super great to deal with and both knives have been fantastic in the field. Perhaps he has gotten in a little in over his head on the production side, but I found the company great to deal with and the knives of excellent quality.

The whole "they never leave anyone without a knife or refund" defense is wack. A month to give a guy a refund? That is utter non sense, in a day and age where the click of a button gives a refund, they have zero excuse.
Some people will defend ANYTHING their favorite company does.

Nonsense in your eyes or not, people eventually got a refund or a knife. This wasn't a defense of Survive business, other than to say they are not stealing money from people, like implied in many many threads. And I agree they have no excuse, but their knives continue to be pre-sold along with 2nds and Ugly Betty at bargain prices (IMHO) for a very very good finished product.

2 year waits, while others get their knife? The fans say "it's worth it"!

Refunds delayed for whenever survive feels like it? The fans say, "at least they gave you a refund" and "everyone is taken care of".

Not sure where this all came from and don't remember anything in your quotes actually being said by anyone. Did you have a bad experience waiting 2 years for a $200 knife? IMHO, waiting 2 years for a $200 knife, thats the kind of choice that needs defending, regardless of the maker.

Sfrigon, Kalema, My sore point has been Cryo. To ask a metallurgist and member of the ASM committee on cryo, ' what is cryo and how it works' and not get an answer is frustrating .How can you have a business providing cryo yet not know how it works? Early users of 3V had video of hacking away with a 4" blade on steel pipe ? Impact use as a chopper implies good momentum which in turn requires weight .With a 4" blade? 900F secondary hardening treatment after -300 F ?? That's failure to understand secondary hardening or cryo ! I try to be a scientist , to thoroughly understand a process , then proceed to get the maximum benefit from that.

I really think the designs look great, the designs are simple but appear extremely functional. I won't be trying any of their knives though, I cancelled my GSO6 preorder 4/26/17, still waiting on a refund 5/26/17 after multiple emails over the last month and a voicemail left today. I cancelled my GSO4.1 preorder on 5/17, obviously waiting for a refund there too. My orders were placed in July and September of 2015, I am just tired of waiting. I've purchased alternates from other manufacturers already, I figure the knife I have with me in the field is better than the knife I have on preorder.

This person is still waiting for a refund. Perhaps this thread will get it going.

Great steel, Great designs, and Great Knives all around, even their factory 2nd's are amazing with only minor cosmetic blemishes that do not hinder function.

That being said you need two things when dealing with Survive!:

A deep wallet, their knives are pricier than most.

Patience, whole lotta this, as you might have already read, months, years, even their factory 2nds take 90 days to ship.

All that being said I had to pass up on them since I was lacking the two aforementioned things.

Ended up getting a 3V Cold Steel Ak-47 Field Knife and don't regret it, saved around $75, and got it delivered in under a week.

On topic, a concern for even buying a used survive knives knife is if the company folds due to their poor business model, what happens to warranty and service of the product?

I'm serious about giving you a knife. I have a lightly uses 4.1 that will be your grail ! So now you can stop being so butt hurt about not having any patience to wait for a knife. And if you have any issues w it I will give you another one and I can't believe that there are people still dreaming up well ( what if they fold )? Listen up buddy what if your custom knifemaker croaks ? Then what ??? So much for your warranty huh

Yup. Couple of clicks. Documented in the past. That is all it would have taken for multiple people to get a refund yet survive did not. When someone holds your money and lies to you for years and doesn't give it back when you ask they are using it and you aren't.
