2015 Forum Knife. A Work in Progress!

I also can't wait to see how the bocote polishes up. I've never had any first hand experience with the stuff. All I have to go by is pictures. I really liked how there was a lot of variation between slabs.
(fingers crossed for a dark one)

Even if your knife doesn't initially have dark slabs, they'll darken over time.

Thanks for the WIP thread. Looking forward to this knife.

Since we're seeing knife pictures in progress. Here's the label in progress (mostly complete?).

What a cool label - emphasis on the vintage Schrade design shield - nice! OH

This will be on Canal's dark green box, if that helps put anyone at ease about the color. ;)

I'm so out of my element over here... Lol I'm extremely knowledgable about modern knives, traditional is new to me as of this week.

Serpentine indicates that the body curves (unlike cigar/equal end shape, which is straight sided). The trapper has two blades, both from the same end, on two springs. This has two blades, but from opposite sides, sharing the same spring, so it's a bit slimmer in the pocket. Arguably, this shouldn't be called a jack. :/

Here is a pretty good reference for different traditional patterns. It can get confusing because some companies use different/unique terms as well.

I think technically, it's a double end serpentine jack. Great work all around, this is probably my favorite forum knife so far.
