What disturbs me is that at this late date, after all the polls and votes, some people are saying if they don't get what they want, they're out. Shame on you!

Well shame on me then for not wanting to spend MY money on things that I don’t want to spend MY on. I voted all the way through with intent to buy, and I still do, however, I will not spend money on the added fluff which is what I was alluding to in my post. I don’t need a fancier box or a pocket slip. (Voting looks like people agree for the most part).

Grooved bolsters for an added $20+ to each knife seems a bit much when the whole rest of the knife only cost roughly $80. Is it worth the markup? Not to me, but I shouldn’t be made to feel like I’ve already committed to the purchase from the very first poll no matter how it turned out.

This is the point of polls. They narrow down the options of the knife itself but it also narrows down the buyer pool as well. As long as the polls keep running, the buyer pool is going to continue to change as well.

A lot of people are referencing the "slip". Isn't the Buck leather pouch a belt carry option, rather than a pocket slip? Or does it depend on the knife? (I've never actually seen a Buck slip - which in no means that they don't exist)
Good question, can we see a picture of the slip?

I agree with this. It's the point I was trying to make back on page 1 about spending each other's money.

As of this moment, it's basically 112 votes smooth / 109 grooved.

Grooved with slip would be my ultimate choice. Personally I don’t give a rats hind end about the material the box is made out of so I’ll let the masses decide that part.

No matter how this turns out, everyone has the right to change their mind. I may not be happy with someone bowing out after contributing in the polls, but I fully accept it. I also believe that if someone wishes to express their opinions in a respectful manner, then that should be responded to in an equally respectful manner. I thought this was supposed be a friendly place. This is a knife build by committee. Differences? Yes. Rancor? No. Buy or don’t buy.

I want the grooved bolsters. I'm still struggling with my choice though as it is a lot of added cost for the grooved bolsters.

However, if I didn't know that the knife would be ~$81 without grooved bolsters, ~$104 would seem like a steal.

I think we were expecting the knife to be around $100 anyway, so $104 isn't going to make me tap out.

Don't forget shipping costs!

Well gents... it has been fun. I was really looking forward to this knife. It will be gorgeous and one of a kind and I had every intention of buying one.

Unfortunately life has been kicking me down and down recently and I took a major shot to the balls when I was down in the last week. Not sure what to do at this point other than keeping an edge on my old Barlow.

Thanks to skblades skblades for working this one out. Will be a hell of a knife.

Slip looks nice although I don't use them.
Regarding grooves: they can always be added but can never be removed. So no grooves for me. Those who want non-grooved and slip should consider changing their vote to drop the slip and then non-grooved wins and a slip can be always purchased separately.

Thanks for those slip photos! Don't know if I'll vote for one, but I will definitely want to carry this knife in one. The edges on those bolsters look like they'll chew up my khakis in no time.

116 non grooved against 115 grooved - minus all the other options. So close.

I feel like I have so much power in my hands. Mad with power. HAHAHAHAAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes dear. No I am not on the computer again dear. OK, I'm coming dear.

Oh well that was short lived.

Way back on page 2 Sabercat Sabercat said it best for me: "An American made 2 blade stockman with premium steel and elk handles for ~$81. Seems too good to be true." even though it seems like he is not going with that option, it 100% why i voted for it. ;)
