2018 BF Traditional Knife

I know that moving the juggernaut that is the Traditional Forum can be slow. Our process over at the Buck Forum for a BF knife has lots of input to sift through. But once a knife is chosen or decision made, we are looking at 8 weeks to ship date once the order is in to Buck.

Yes 440C is an option as well.

I've heard a lot of good things about Buck's old 440C. That comment, though, was referencing GEC. I would want CPM-154 from Buck.

Honestly, I'm not usually a stag guy, but that stag ROCKS.

I think we're looking at getting consensus on whether or not to go with Buck. Once we get that and permission and all, then we usually do a poll for options. I'm not sure when the "consensus" happens at this point, but I'm looking forward to it.

Maybe Buck could make us one of their "custom shop" 500 series with a different stamp on a pre-determined design for Bladeforums. They already do these customs one at a time and we could order straight from Buck so nobody has to "front" much, if any, money. It wouldn't look as "old-timey" as past knives, but it should be popular given the amount of attention paid to micarta handled GEC and LionSteel's "modern" slipjoints. Plus, for collector/sellers, Buck has great resale value on their rarer versions of knives.

They all look nice, the Burl looks very appealing.
If we have a poll & Spark puts the seal of approval on it we just may be able to get it.
The 303 is a little more pocket friendly but either one would be good.

Any of those Bucks with 20cv blades would be great. All of the options given for steel are good - I'm wondering what the upcharge is for each of them. I'm assuming 20cv is the most expensive, but would be well worth it if not TOO much.

I agree the stag looks great, and has that "traditional spirit" that most of the prior offerings exhibit.

Had Buck actually make up some samples of the 301. Like I said, access isn't a problem! ;)

Top is Stag.
Middle is Burlap Micarta.
Bottom is Poplar Burl

I actually like these quite a bit! I think what made me dislike the original knife is the shield. No shield if this is the choice.

I am loving all the different ideas! I think we are getting close to a poll time maybe??

I think maybe we should wait and see what GEC has to offer.

I know the 301, 303, 112, and 110 are listed as being possible. But that being said, I don't like to make an uninformed decision.

If you don't mind me asking, what models would be available?

I Really like the 113 Ranger, and would LOVE one in 20cv, CPM154, or AEB-L.

We probably need a forum member (like me!!) to test these samples to make sure they are suitable. :D ;)

Looks really nice, skblades skblades  Would the actual knives have pinned covers? Or will the covers be glued?

skblades skblades thanks for all the leg work and being so responsive.

My question is, at what point can there be considered to be a quorum and how does this move forward? It seems there needs to be an authority figure (forum mod?) to move forward. How does this work?

Those 301s, particularly the stag covered are very nice. The 301 with white micarta and bg42 has been on my need list a long while and if offered, I will most definitely have my dollars out.
But, as previously mentioned in an unquotable post, if Mr. Campagna has possibly already been in talks with GEC about a forum knife I would love to know how that conversation went. Charlie has been been behind the bulk of my finest, most cherished traditional knives and I will want one of those too.
In conclusion, I think its time again to have an A and AA forum knives.

More PHOTOSHOP... I think I will post these pics in the "Your Newest Addition" forum too, just to mess with people :D Don't look too closely at the stag handled one... it looks like someone glued a bunch of stag pieces on the side of a knife but you get the picture. I copy and pasted from a picture of a Buck 503 Elk.

I gotta say... I do not own any micarta handled knives but that burlap micarta looks like a winner ;)
