Attention 2019 Forum knife question thread.

OK: mine is going to replace an old Schrade I keep with a couple of others at the end of my kitchen bench for "utility" use: in this case, mostly opening boxes and packages. It is much nicer than the Schrade it is displacing (not that there's anything wrong with that Schrade), it is fairly light duty, yet gets used most days:

That seems a good role for a nice knife like this :)

It will share the bench space with an old melon tester / letter opener and a SAK Huntsman "everything else" among my "knives for things I won't do with a kitchen knife":

Last day of school before vacation for this teacher is Friday. Kids are bananas this week. Can’t WAIT to make it to Friday... So I can come home, run to the mailbox, and tear open a box from knifeswapper!

I will then have 12 days to fondle said knife while opening the occasional package.
 
Looks like mine might arrive a day early :thumbsup:
It just arrived early this morning at my local USPS distribution center.
But due to the holidays I’ll still expect it Friday but will see.
 
The stamping: next to GEC is stamped “CAR”. Does anyone know what this means?

And a great slipjoint, should be fun using this. The wood is beautiful.
 
Was patiently awaiting a Friday delivery... opened the mailbox this afternoon to a very pleasant surprise :D

All I have to say is... wow... all other words have escaped me. Maybe I will have more later... but for now... wow...
