Been reading over the last few posts in this thread because im interested in this knife( ordered two) ....seen a couple posts about a forum knife listed on the exchange already and i suppose thats me...Not sure about everyone elses life but i have emergencies happen, in fact a few lately and I'm sorry if i have to sell some knives but if thats what it takes to keep my household goin ill do it. In fact it kinda makes me wanna sell the other forum knife i just bought. I thought it would be good to list it on here so memebers would have a chance to get it instead of ebay. Sorry if i offended.
Some time you just have to do something you really don't want to do . I don't care for Flippers but I saw your sale and I did not see a Flipper's Price . Just hang in there young man and good luck on the transmission fix .

I'm posting this for @rbeggs and to help clear up any confusion on what we see as flipping. Sorry you're having truck trouble, it couldn't happen at a worse time, with the holidays around the corner. Hope it turns out OK.

Hey folks, Just a note on this flipping thing. There's a big difference between having to sell a knife near cost to pay the bills and selling one to make a profit. Folks, if you need to sell your forum knife to help out with the bills, don't hesitate to do it. If you bought two and just want to keep the best of the pair, feel free to do it. Just try to sell it close to cost. I'm sure that's pretty obvious to all of you.

That said, I'm a capitalist and don't really have a problem with folks selling their property for whatever the market will bear, IN MOST CASES. In the case of the forum knife, it's really about the fact that the dealer has made a monetary contribution to the forum knife effort by agreeing to sell at a price that only covers their costs, with no profit. That's a biggie. Having someone buy multiple forum knives to sell at a profit is just a smack in the face to the whole forum knife community effort, and the contribution made by the dealer.

That's why Frank and I spend so much time keeping lists, vetting potential purchasers and limiting quantities to two knives (there were a few exceptions made, based on specific requests). There were a few that wanted to buy this year, but weren't allowed, based on their history last year. It's a lot more work for us, but it's fair.

Anyway, if you see a forum knife being scalped let us know, behind the scenes please. We'll have a "No Buy" list just in case we do a forum knife next year.

That's a great post Gary and I agree 100% with it:thumbsup: Man that's got to just add a ton of work keeping an eye on the flippers in addition to all you and Frank do, but please know it is a task that we appreciate to no end here on the porch. Thank you again and may both you and Frank and your families enjoy a blessed holiday season:thumbsup::)

Such a lovely piece. I finally had some daylight to take a pic.

Just so everyone knows...

I posted yesterday about it being interesting that a knife had sold on the Exchange before I had even gotten my shipping notice. I don't care who does what with their stuff. I'm on record here as not being concerned about the dreaded 'F' word or the practice thereof.

I hope I didn't start any 'F' debate, not my intention at all. I really did find it interesting... Stupid brain...

I don’t think anyone took offense or took it as an insult. I do understand what you meant. Interesting as in a little jealous someone could already have one for sale and wishing you could have yours already!

And now something for the vegetarians....

I was expecting tomorrow but here we are a day early and I’m so glad. I can’t tell if I’ll carry the darker or lighter one. But tomorrow one of them is definitely coming to work to show off.

Thanks to everyone that made this possible and thanks to BladeForums for being the great place it is.

Joe

Looks like you got some nice variety in your two!

Nice photo, Buzz!

Mine’s “Out for Delivery,” with an oddly specific “Expected Delivery Between” time of 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Well it’s 12:54 and no sign of the mailman yet… :D

My knife arrived yesterday but I was too tired to go up to the mail boxes to get it so, I got it this morning. It's a very nice knife and I'm glad to have it. It's a 4.0 knife overall. I forgot to take a picture of the tube but rest assured I have the @meako label missive on it. Good job @meako !!!

Looking knife love the bolster and the long pull.

Mine came today and I am very pleased with it. Thanks to all involved: our moderators, the gang here on the porch, Meako who put in the time to create a great label (Poor fella still doesn't have his!), special thanks to Mike for doing all the shipping, etc work and GEC for making the knives.

So here is mine - what gem. And although I have some SPAM, I'll be using a kitchen knife to slice it. :)

Quick question: What did a sailor with a hat on use for a rope knife?

Loving these photos!

I'm one of the stragglers who ordered the "leftovers" so still haven't received a shipping notice. Looks like it's after Christmas for me. Probably for the best since I promised my better half no more knives after the 92 run;)

I received mine today, it is going to be hard to top this years Blade Forums Knife.
I think it turned out fantastic, the button and tube with labels are icing on the cake.
Without a doubt, there was a lot of thought, skill and hard work put into this.
THANK YOU to EVERYONE that made this possible.

I GIVE UP??! What?

Got my knife and picked up a can of Spam with Real Bacon as I was told by some grumpy fellow that I was not allowed to open my knife package until I had Spam in hand.

Mine showed up today, I was quite surprised at how light it is compared to how heavy and large it looks. Very nice pull too.

Also I wanted to note, that for all the theatrics around the back label...I for one am quite disappointed.

Here I was expecting a paragraph of meako's brand of impenetrable Aussie slang and some obscure pop culture references and we ended up with something his grammar teacher would have been proud to read.

For shame sir. :)
