2023 GEC Cody Scout #721123LB

My favorite jigging style (like the red 36 run with the bull shield) but my least favorite color 🄲

With all the green, red, and yellows we get maybe we are on the cusp of a purple or blue run of jigged?

I believe the ā€œCā€ is a play on sea, for sea (foam) green. Lots of sea foam green paint on submarines. Also, I like this jigging much more than I do most GEC jigged bone offerings.
On my 36 it’s pretty smooth but gives enough tactile feedback to feel ā€œfancyā€ and thought out. It’s not grippy like the old sawcut, but pleasant in the hand.

That is a great way of putting it!

I thought I wanted purple jigged bone and the standard UN-X-LD shield, but I was wrong.

C(rocodile?) Green and UN-X-LD Bullet it is!

Go Bill!

And we got a green...

Looks nice but i was hoping for something similar to #83 Bark brewed bone! Still not sure if i love the bullet shield

Green is not a favorite of mine. That said, I can deal with either one of these, but wouldn't want to go any lighter like a bright lime green. It looks from the pictures posted so far on their site, they should all be fairly consistent. I checked and can tell you it's the most expensive of the 4. About $25 more. Nice jigging though.

I was going to pass on the CheChen Rosewood but now that i've seen the Pickle bone... i'm not sure if i'll try to get a Chechen or a Jigged bone... i will decide once i've seen some pictures in this thread of theses two... the pictures on GEC website are not the best around... šŸ˜…

I've only got two simple questions.

1. What happened to the cover image? 😲
2. What on earth does the "C" in "C Green" really stand for?

The cover image is back up. If you noticed the original one said July 21 at the top, I think they just changed it to June.
Call GEC and ask Joan Mae or Sue what it stands for, and let us know.;)

2. What on earth does the "C" in "C Green" really stand for?

As has been said earlier, could be C as in "sea" maybe?
Or C as in Cody Scout?
Or C as in copper, since when copper rusts it can go green? I think this one is a stretch though.
Truly its a mystery until someone in the know enlightens us.

On a side note, I love the jigging on the bone covers but the green just isn't my favorite. I really like the che chen wood. I have a sienna bone that came in yesterday but I have a che chen coming in so I'm going to wait till that one arrives to decide which one becomes a user and which one gets put away or sent off to someone who will appreciate it. I really love this pattern and I'm excited to put it into my rotation.

This green looks like a tribute to the old Case Green Bone of the past, so I think the "C" is a nod to the old Case.

I think the color will grow on people once they have it in hand. It is definitely different. I also think they feel this is the flagship of the 4, and will have very nice fit and finish to them. I will have the full quartet so I can judge them in the end. I already have the first 3 and all are very nice. I'm only getting all 4 of these as I really like this pattern. I did the same with the 74's and 47's a couple years ago.

I just got the answer straight from Bill Howard as to what the "C" stands for, and he said, there is no definite answer and it's all up to the customers imagination. So there you have it. It seems like that's working.:D
