5” Blade Spyderco Police Model!!

I have several Police knives. I will buy a no choil, FFG version in VG10. I would rather Magnacut but who wouldn't. I am really sick of choils so VG10 won't be a problem. I'll end up with a few. Also, black G10 and satin uncoated blade would be great.

Next up a no choil Manix 2 XL!!

I sold off nearly all my folders with blades over 3.5"...but I'd consider "coming out of retirement" for a 5" G10 Police, particularly a no-choil version. Fingers crossed for a coated option, and then crossed again for an eventual Cru-Wear/Micro-Melt PD#1 version. :D

Ooh, yeah, a 5" Police in PD#1 would be s'wonderful.

I'm still skeptical about this but as a Police model collector, at least generationally, I'll probably buy the pair, if I'm still alive when they're released, in order to include them as examples of Gen V in my collection but, based the comments posted here so far, it looks like the choil version will be the one to get from a collector's POV because it is likely to be the the less popular & harder one to find down the road.

I also find it interesting that there is much more chatter here about a 5" Police model than on the Official Spyderco Forums:

See: Spyderco Forums - Police Talk

But this may change if/when the 5" Police models get beyond the concept stage & actual production models are pictured/described in a Reveal thereby reducing the likely wait time to an actual release to just a year or 2.

LOL!!!! ;)

I think I would prefer the handle forward version. With a knife that large I dont see a reason to add a choil unless its mostly formed in the handle and less of the blade.

I like big knives, I must say, and would love a 5" Police. I carried one in my years at the Sheriffs dept. I actually carried about 4 of them, and was on my 4th, all stainless and all SE before they had screws on the body. When they say don't do stupid things like using them a pry bar they really mean it. You would have thought I would have learned the 1st time, nope... Then there was the lost one somewhere out in a field, and I left when I was carrying my 4th. I have almost all the Military 2 knives now, because I am not a huge fan of the back lock, I really like the compression lock and large knives, but if it was changed it would be a Police. I would purchase one just to have.

I knew a Chris (who was a retired Sheriff) from California …who moved to Texas!! 😏😄

are scales and handle gonna be real thin on the width like police are now? same width as current police or bit wider?
