#77 Barlow 2016 - What configuration would you like?

...still pounding the table for blue denim micarta scales.

...I would like to withdraw my "snakewood" request and substitute it for this fine gentleman's suggestion of Blue Denim Micarta.

My previous post should be read as follows:

Snakewood Blue Denim Micarta 440C Swedged long pull Clip Point with a Spey secondary, lined bolsters, cloud shield, brass pins and liners, lanyard hole.
Pretty much my dream GEC.

Ok.....raising my head again......

ROTTEN BANANA BONE!!!! PULEEEEEEEZZZZZE.

rare........and beautiful.......please couple it with a clip coping/pen....

One more time.....ROTTEN BANANA BONE..

I promise not to speak up again....well maybe...
Peter

Another vote for the RB bone.

Is rotten banana bone a smooth bone, or jigged?
Yellow with brown spots? Sounds interesting. I like the weight of bone, what about smooth jet black bone in all steel?

Here is rotten banana bone on a #66 that my friend in LA now owns:

That rotten banana bone is sweet! From a bit of reading I found that not many knives were produced with these covers. Anyone know why? If so would that be a reason they couldn't be brought back?

Could be too difficult to find enough rotten bananas that ossify into handle material? ;) :p

Thank you Mike for including us in the witter about your next Barlow. I think a clip point would be nice with a pen secondary. Cover material...I like so many but I read a couple of request of a deep jig along with pictures. Nice! I'm confident that whatever and how many ever you come up with will be perfect. Just please...no caplifter. Great on the beer scout/gunscout/scout but not on your 77.

I would like to see a spear or clip master with a pen or small wharncliffe secondary. Handle materials red and chestnut sawcut bone or maybe red soupbone.

I think spear, wharncliffe, or sheepsfoot single blades with NS or steel bolsters in that rotten banana would be very hard to top.

SINGLE CLIP BLADE WITH COCOBOLO COVERS!!!!

Also:
Long Pull or Crescent Nick
Clip or Spear Blade
Jigged Bone!!!! or Sawcut Again!!!
Walnut or Bubunga Wood Covers as well.

Now that we have seen pictures of your Scabre blade for the 85s Mike , I would like to have a Sabre Clip , or a Sabre Drop Point , or a Scabre choice on these 77s. That would be differant than any of the other 4 types of blades that I currently have.

Harry

Rotten banana would be a nice smooth option . Personally prefer sawcut on barlows though. Now rotten banana on the 85eo

I'm in! :)

Jigging never really looked right to me on Barlows. I agree that sawcut or smooth bone is the way to go. Or wood.

Id like an all steel, clip (like the 15, that has swedges and a long pull, but is still able to be pinched open) with micarta handles (green or maroon). I would just get a single blade but for the doubles, people really seemed to be happy with the backside coping on the last run.

I would love to see the clip primary/sheepsfoot secondary combination offered with ebony covers.
