#77 Barlow 2016 - What configuration would you like?

I change my vote to a scandi-sheepsfoot main blade.. In my opinion, the scandi-sabre blade in the bottom images would look great as a scandi-sheepsfoot in the 2016 NF Barlow. I'd prefer an easy open version of scandi-sabre if the scandi-sheepsfoot couldn't be manufactured for some reason.

As many have said on here I would also love to see a pinchable clip point blade single and a few two blades that include a secondary coping blade..

Handle material I think it would be awesome to incorporate some Burl's don't know how often Gec works with that but like ironwood burl or even just ironwood in general I think would look awesome

Also love any of GEC's sawcut bone handles

Sorry just saw a couple pages back where you said we could drop the burl selections so scratch that! Maybe just ironwood

That rotten banana bone is sweet! From a bit of reading I found that not many knives were produced with these covers. Anyone know why? If so would that be a reason they couldn't be brought back?

The story I heard is Bill Howard said that the Rotten Banana bone scales were an accident. Something had dripped onto a batch of their yellow bone scales and soaked in staining the bone. He polished a couple up and they actually looked really good so they ended up using them. It's my favorite scale material they have ever put out and I every year at the GEC booth I ask Chris to plant the seed about another run of rotten banana bone scales lol.

Jake,
Interesting to hear this about rotten banana bone. I'd believe it. I've the same thing about Appaloosa bone, I imagine both would be difficult to replicate.

Thanks for the reply! That is a great a story and explanation as to why the RBB has yet to be seen again. It would be great
if one day the good folks at GEC had some time to mess around with replicating some version of the scales, but I completely understand that they already go to great lengths producing their current yearly runs, SFO's and occasional new patterns. Seems to be a a good amount of interest so we can cross our fingers and see what the future brings.

Yellow would look good on a Northfield Barlow. I really like the Yellow Rose shield. Since Barlows are not usually shielded (some of the old Russell Barlows did come with shields), it would really be unique. And in keeping with Mike's tradition, we could get one without the blade etch... see the Calf Roper (3rd from Right)... an SFO for John Kuvet.

Besides, I'd really like to add a Barlow to my Yellow Rose collection! :D

The yellow rose line is my favorite as well! Yellow bone in general is awesome but I really love the yellow rose series. You're missing a jigged bone 66 Serp Jack though. :)

I'd second the yellow bone Barlow.

Al, you need a #42 in there as well....;)

Jamie, I do indeed!

Jake, by my count, I'm missing at least 20 :( ... would almost make up for it, if we get a 77 Barlow in Yellow Rose ;)

Spey blade
ez open,all carbon,
At least have a yellow bone cover option , long pull ( maybe match strike pull)
maybe a small stamped logo on the blade, sort of like the ancient barlows

It doesn't have to have all the option listed, but a least have all carbon construction

The more I see the saber grinds on your #85 SFO the more I like it. A saber grind with an easy open notch would be unique enough to make me add another #77 Barlow to my collection.

Me too, I think it would make for an interesting 2016 NF Barlow. Anybody have a guess as when we will see these? I'm guessing a few months?

I also really like the yellow rose series but a shield on a barlow? sacrilege!! maybe the rose in the bolster instead of the NF...
