#77 Barlow 2016 - What configuration would you like?

I would like to see a swedged clip with a coping blade, with a couple of offerings in jigged bone. Better yet, make one in 440c with the elk stag handles.

I'm in for all of this. ELK! Especially if it's a saber ground clip! Or a Zulu Spear. Did I say zulu spear? I think someone should commission GEC do to a Zulu spear.

Also, as a note, I prefer the swedge to end at the clip rather than continue to the spine like the previous 77 clips. Anyone else have preference on that?

Bleh, are you talking about the clip fully opened? IF so I agree. I prefer full flat grind but if we'd get a long pull and this blade profile then I'd be in.

Mike, you have made some great combinations over the past few years. I have bought knives from all of the runs and will no doubt buy whatever you make next too. That said, now that you've progressed from brass, to NS, to steel liners, you have to stick with steel! It gives that custom feel to a knife and a wonderful weight in the hand.

I'd like to see a spey blade Barlow but I wouldn't mind more runs of the previous blade shapes, made up in 440C.

I'm not too picky about blade shape, but I usually prefer single blades.

Although it flies in the face of tradition, the Barlow knife generally not being fancy, I would really like to see Snakewood used on these. They are Northfields after all!

Spey, all steel, long pull or match strike. Ez opening would be cool too, but would understand if left out . Handle material, surprise me

Large Wharncliffe with Pen or Coping secondary. Sawcut antique amber bone and/or deep worm groove dark red bone.

Thanks for asking.

I love my 77 barlows but wish there were more clip points available. Also if the clip blade were done with a swedge like on the long pull TC barlows it would make it more pinchable. I would also love to see an option for a deep nail nick like on the clip/wharnie medium barlows. Caplifter secondary behind the main blade would also be amazing and a One Arm Razor option as well.

As for covers I would love to see Polished Stag, Jigged bone/wood, more Micarta options and definitely Steel liners/bolsters!
Looking forward to the next run but my wallet isn't 😉

I know spear and clip have been done but those are my favorites . Different sawcut options would be nice . Copperhead , rust red , antique amber ,

I think a drop point main, smaller wharncliffe secondary, both in D2, brass bolster, and some complimentary color of G10 or canvas scales would be different. :)
Just thought I'd throw that out there, but not expecting the idea to stick. :(
The Barlow was well known as the working mans knife. This could be his equivalent of a Gold watch?

Unless something changes, you can drop the burl woods and d2 from the wish lists. Too many seconds have to go out the back door.
Then you have a majority wanting steel bolsters and a good number wanting 440C; "she sounds hideous".

1095 pointy drop point, steel , w/coping .
If you went 440c then caplifter , stainless, Elk!

I am adding my vote for:
1095 clip single that is pinchable,
all steel,
some sort of new wood option(s).
Keep 'em coming Mike!
Thanks,
Brian

I'd be interested in all-steel construction, with a pinch-able clip point main, single blade. If there's a secondary blade, I'm fine with a nice medium-size pen or coping, or else a full size wharncliffe. Maybe even a full length spey.

Ok, for everyone that keep coming back to the cap lifter, we may as well add a corkscrew also. [emoji23]
