Just real quick like.... cause I've lost a good few hours of my life to this thread already....

dekdek: Who are you man? Your post count is 80-something and I think 50% of that is in this thread.... which is no big deal but... really my main question is, who are you and what do you do? I ask that because it is interesting to me that you did a "visual inspection" on a couple of folders and then laid down the "ship the head" mandate on them. That's killer impressive to me.... I can't do a "visual inspection" on a folder to deem the quality or problem of the lock-up...I have to spend some time with it....so, I'm intrigued... how you could ascertain an issue so quickly. You could save us all lots of time if you could share. I wont mention the obvious fact that most of your rant here is based on hurt feelings. That's okay. We all get our feelings hurt. I'm not going to stand here and say that "lick my sack" is a great or PC response to a situation, but I also find it funny how "up in arms" you XYs are getting over that. As one of the gals said on another forum "odd a bunch of men should get 'the vapors' over a silly remark". The world is full of things a lot harsher then that. My world anyway. Maybe your world has been a lot kinder and softer.

Am I the only one that has noticed he is glaringly "in absentia"?

Several possibilities here for this... three main ones come to mind....

(1) He feels like an ass for handling this so stupidly, and hasn't bothered to put in a response, admittance, or apology otherwise because he is, quite frankly, a coward;

(2) He is too busy "watching TV" and "being lazy" to follow or participate in the **** storm of a thread he started; or

(3) Everyone has been had. By a troll. Or if not a "troll", certainly a troll post.

Anyone feeling stupid? We all probably should. The guy who started this hasn't invested nearly the time or passion of ANYONE else who has posted as a result. (and no matter which side of the table you've been on here, at least you've all been bloody well passionate).

In the end? Good and bad.

People know about "bro" knives now. And I hope nyeti is wrong and that this wont result in the noble tradition being abandoned.

People know Strider will stand by their warranty 100%.

People know that Mick has a thresh-hold for unfair accusation and abuse and isn't always elegant in his response.

People know that some people love Striders and the men who make them.

People know that some people don't and never will.

As for folks like sak_collector and others that are members of Badlands, please don't try to act like you don't know the parties involved nor the background and/or traditions regarding the knives. You are a member of Strider's forum. You've got the skinny much more than others here at BF who are learning as they read this kind of fodder.

Meanwhile........

They have found a 100% reliable vaccination for cervical cancer; another handful of soldiers have died in the sandbox; and Blade Forums, Strider Knives, and everyone else inbetween will continue to go forth and prosper.

All in all, an extraordinary day's work. Wouldn't you say?

And this is necessary why? Mick comes here, takes a bunch of crud (which he shouldn't have had to), makes a dumb comment, apologizes for it, assures the original poster he's not upset with him, things begin to slowly wind down, and now you (an Admin from Badlands) come here to trash-talk the orininal poster in his (the OP's) absence. Mick even said he didn't have a problem with him (the OP), so what's yours?

In my humble opinion, you didn't say anything to make the situation any better. The OP (Midget) could have handled this issue a WHOLE LOT BETTER, but Mick could have, too. Why start the problem all over again?

BTW, I like Strider knives. They serve their intended purpose extremely well!

What a **** storm! Mick, very well may have dropped the ball on his first post, but he appologized in his second. I guess it wasn't one of those, I beg for your forgiveness PLEASE buy my knives appologies, but hey its Mick. I doubt Mick is perfect, going to venture he has a social flaw or two. :D I say if you want to take Mick to the prom, you better get a differn't date. (unless you want to lick his sack) I really don' think you can question the man's knives or his no BS warrenty. I have a Strider or two and I tell you, sometimes they aren't the prettiest but I guarentee you I have USED some of them in ways that would make a wonder bar cringe. Strider knives are what they are, the hardest core knife made. Bashers are feeding on this like maggots on a corpse for what reason? I don't think you can question whether Strider Knives will fix this knife to satisfaction, they will, thats why I own their knives. I challenge you to show me just 1 customer (Cliff excluded) who has ever had a problem with Strider warrenty work. I doubt you can, what does that say for their business? I have never "been there", but I sure have marched a little ways looking for it.

Damn, what a waste of bandwidth. With attacks like the ones posted here it's not hard to see why the Strider forum is ancient history. I really doubt this discussion has changed anyone's position concerning Mick and Duane's gear. You either love it, or you love talking about how overhyped you think it is.

Also, it's common courtesy in my book to contact a maker privately with your concerns and requests before posting your displeasure in a public forum for all to see. Your comments could scare away potential first customers and you haven't even given Strider a chance to rectify something that they most certainly would take care of. Shame on you dude. For the record, I own four different model Striders, three of them custom and they are flawless in fit and finish and withstand all the abuse I expose them to without failure. So you got a lemon by mistake. Do you know how many cars Ford recalled in 2005. Try a few hundred thousand. It's impossible to catch every mistake. In my experience, they do a damn good job.

I think I already said enough about the 2 knives. This thread is not a job resume and while you are polite in asking I will have to decline in proving im a Bad A$$, I get a kick out of some of these posters proving how Macho they are though. At this point I plan on staying on this forum like I said If im not one of the chosen few who get the boot, So everybody can decide for themselves if Im a idiot or not. As far as getting my feelings hurt, like I said it was piss in my wheaties and I dont have any respect for the guy now and before this didnt even know much about him. After a little research on the net its just a joke to me now.
 

I do find it funny tha a ADMIN from another forum (badlands) would come on here and ask "Who are you man and what do you do ?" I might ask there Michelle " Who are you and what do you do?" Spin Control maybe? You post on here like you dont have a agenda but I guess maybe you do since most of your posts have shown you to be a defender of the faith.
