Not cool, and furthermore, not necessary. But, we'll see what the moderators think.

Hey jciii, see you jumped into the USN forum to stir the ****. What are you a troll that moves from place to place?? :thumbdn:

One of the interesting aspect of these threads to me is how many people register JUST so they can have their say. Spark should come up with a special level of membership for these people.

It's also interesting to know how many people get banned from other forums for what they have said here, but that's not really surprising news because we know that happens already.

Having a purchased a Strider myself, new, with problems. I take pleasure in all those that claim they will buy more Striders and they will be perfect or that there's no QA/QC problem. Let us know how you do with any new purchases.

My question is this. Did you talk to the Strider guy about the problem, and they did nothing about it?

If im not one of the chosen few who get the boot
Good question, why haven't you gotton the boot, you seem to be stiring up just as much crap as everyone else who was banned? Maybe the list just hasn't gotton to your name yet. :)

Firecap,

Let me say it is not my intent to start a whole new aspect of this thread, just to relate that from my personal point of view, the question of QA/QC is real. The seller and I resolved it in a amicable way, the knife has been fixed so the knife is no longer and issue.

And that's bad why?

Because it was a new knife which should not be defective, if you take a look around you will find it is very common for not only makers/manfacturers to not charge for return shipping in such a case, they will also refund the cost of shipping it to them because the knife should not be that way when you buy it.

Just real quick like.... cause I've lost a good few hours of my life to this thread already....

dekdek: Who are you man? Your post count is 80-something and I think 50% of that is in this thread.... which is no big deal but... really my main question is, who are you and what do you do? I ask that because it is interesting to me that you did a "visual inspection" on a couple of folders and then laid down the "ship the head" mandate on them. That's killer impressive to me.... I can't do a "visual inspection" on a folder to deem the quality or problem of the lock-up...I have to spend some time with it....so, I'm intrigued... how you could ascertain an issue so quickly. You could save us all lots of time if you could share. I wont mention the obvious fact that most of your rant here is based on hurt feelings. That's okay. We all get our feelings hurt. I'm not going to stand here and say that "lick my sack" is a great or PC response to a situation, but I also find it funny how "up in arms" you XYs are getting over that. As one of the gals said on another forum "odd a bunch of men should get 'the vapors' over a silly remark". The world is full of things a lot harsher then that. My world anyway. Maybe your world has been a lot kinder and softer.

Tic Tock and others who are professing the bravery of "Poor Mr. Midget" here, the OP....

Where is he?

Am I the only one that has noticed he is glaringly "in absentia"?

Several possibilities here for this... three main ones come to mind....

(1) He feels like an ass for handling this so stupidly, and hasn't bothered to put in a response, admittance, or apology otherwise because he is, quite frankly, a coward;

(2) He is too busy "watching TV" and "being lazy" to follow or participate in the **** storm of a thread he started; or

(3) Everyone has been had. By a troll. Or if not a "troll", certainly a troll post.

Anyone feeling stupid? We all probably should. The guy who started this hasn't invested nearly the time or passion of ANYONE else who has posted as a result. (and no matter which side of the table you've been on here, at least you've all been bloody well passionate).

In the end? Good and bad.

People know about "bro" knives now. And I hope nyeti is wrong and that this wont result in the noble tradition being abandoned.

People know Strider will stand by their warranty 100%.

People know that Mick has a thresh-hold for unfair accusation and abuse and isn't always elegant in his response.

People know that some people love Striders and the men who make them.

People know that some people don't and never will.

As for folks like sak_collector and others that are members of Badlands, please don't try to act like you don't know the parties involved nor the background and/or traditions regarding the knives. You are a member of Strider's forum. You've got the skinny much more than others here at BF who are learning as they read this kind of fodder.

Meanwhile........

They have found a 100% reliable vaccination for cervical cancer; another handful of soldiers have died in the sandbox; and Blade Forums, Strider Knives, and everyone else inbetween will continue to go forth and prosper.

All in all, an extraordinary day's work. Wouldn't you say?

Michelle, that is an excellent summing up of the situation. There'd be green headed your way if the rep system were still up.

I think the thread has continued due to the topics it brought up. I dont feel stupid for any posting whatsoever. I personally don't care that the original poster is not taking part. The conversation has trumped his original problem, which has been resolved to some degree. Its like posting about a car, and a discussion coming out of it about car manufacturing. If he doesnt care, it doenst mean we all should let all our discussions end as well. It seems like its on its way out anyways. The problem is resolved or can be, the mass immigration of blind defenders seems to have tapered off, and things will go back to normal eventually.

Interesting to hear about other QC/QA problems on "new" knives. Im sure there are vastly more perfect ones that make it out into the marketplace, but when we hear about enough QA/QC problems, it does in my mind bring question to the validity of the "its a BRO" claim that neatly and cleanly excluded the manufacturer of all responsibility of what left the shop, and at the same time justified the childish response to the whole situation.
