A Month Ago I didn't Own A Kershaw

I've always loved knives. It runs in the family. Dad gave me a old barlow back when I was about seven or eight. Now that's a goodly amount of time pocket carrying everything from stockman, trappers, to classic lockbacks.

I collect Bucks due to my history with them, but in the last couple of years have ventured off into Spydercos and Benchmades. Now these Kershaws. It is truly amazing the what's available these days.

This new ZT/Hinderer collaberation is going to be great!!!

Hey does this mean eligble for the Kershaw Mafia??

If it existed, I should be eligible too. :D

I heard from a little bird that Rick and Kershaw have plans for more
mouth watering offerings.

I finially managed to spend some quality time with my G10 Tyrade. This is really a quality knife that feels great in your hand and is a pleasure to use. Kershaw CPM-D2 is real fine steel.

Anyway, I'm really loving my ZT's and this Kershaw.

Next up......ZT551.

I recently acquired a JYDII in G10 with the composite blade. The first time I saw a JYD, I didn't really like the looks of the knife. But I it anyway as I'm intrigued with composite blade's steels. The exagarated drop point is what way putting me off I think. No worries now. Its a great knife and the blade is a cutter. It's been in my pocket everyday for two weeks. Some BM's and Spyderco's went into the box.

Steel: Sandvik 13C26/CPM-D2 Composite two-tone stainless steel with copper accent.
Handle: Textured Black G-10
Lock: Locking Liner
Blade: 3 3/4 in.
Closed: 4 7/8 in.
Weight: 5.2 oz.

This is a must have knife and available as blems for under $50. Mine is one and it's only fault was no box or case...just a knife. HELL of a Knife!!

Flatlander,

I hear ya loud and clear on those Kershaws and ZTs. I've got the ZT0300, ZT0350CB and a ZT0650ST--fantastic knives, every one.

IMVHO, Kershaw makes some of the best framelocks going--and that's saying a lot because Spyderco isn't a slouch in that department by any means.

Now, I'm no automatic knife aficionado, but if one strikes my fancy I'll buy it. The 0650ST has ruined all that--I think it's flat out the best automatic on the market right now. There are others that are fancier, more exotic, more expensive, but the 0650ST is something special. Use the combination safety/release button a few times and you'll be ruined for other autos. It also fires fast and hard, yet locks up like a prison guard!

Can ya tell I really like this knife??:D

Best,

Heekma

I just watched a video on the 650ST. That is a really fine looking knife. Not sure about true autos however for EDC carry. Your alluding to prison guards may be right on target for some of us if we get caught with one.

There is one thing about my Junkyard Dog that I don't really care for....and that's the batwing clip. A little overdone for my tastes. I'm pretty sure another STR lowrider is in my future. But I'm really digging this JYD!!

The JYD series are very good knives. One of my favorite knives of all time is the JYD I. The JYD II is also great; it carries well for its size and cuts like a beast. They both fit the hand very well, too.

In the same boat as the OP a couple of years ago. I only had Leeks and Chives until I got a ZT300. Since then, 3 JYD's, 2 Grooves, want the new collab, one RAM . . .you get the idea.

Solid blades and affordable; really liking and noticing everything Kershaw puts out now.

Actually, the three brands (Kershaw, ZT, Shun) fall under the Kai USA umbrella.

Kai Industries is our larger division...:) http://www.kai-ind.co.jp/en/

If you look under the "Group Companies" link, you will see all of the divisions of Kai. We are quite diverse with products and locations.

Until two weeks ago I never owned a "real knife". I've started my collection with the Kershaw Cyclone and Mini Cylone and had to throw in a Scallion to check out the smaller size. I absolutely love the assisted opening and the value/quality ratio can't be beat from my limited experience.

If you want to experience more of that awesome value/quality ratio - check out Cabela's. They have the Kershaw Storm, plain edge on sale for $19.99. It's a neat Ken Onion design that is very comfortable to hold in the hand due to handle design. It is designed to be opened by thumb studs but can also be opened with the mini-flipper on the back side and a fick of your wrist. I believe the model is being discontinued.

They (Storm and Storm II) are discontinued. 20 bucks for a USA made framelock is one helluva deal.
