There is a small but loud group of people here that absolutely hate this company. Even if they clean up their backlog and get every customer that paid, their knife… this small but loud group will continue to rant and moan about SK!. It’s like a hobby for them. They just like having a crusade I guess. They take great pride in the fact that they have a large never ending hate thread for the company. They feel very accomplished that it shows up in google searches (sorta like being the famous guy in a small town).
If you’re happy with the knife and feel it’s all water under the bridge… good for you man. Enjoy the blade. Don’t let a small but loud group of people make you feel like you’re part of a problem because you got your knife… but don’t still wanna hate SK!. Some people just like being recreationally outraged about something. They just can’t turn it loose.
You’re using facts and logic to respond to a troll. That never works. The troll’s only purpose is to disrupt, they don’t post in order to share knowledge or engage in a discussion. They’re also really boring. You’re so backwards it’s not funny. First you say that Survive should just keep doing what they’re doing and screw the backlog, just keep selling more spots for knives because they can and no one will ever change their opinion of them.
Then you’re praising the person you quoted for getting their knife finally, liking it and being happy they followed through. Imagine what COULD happen for Survive’s business and reputation if they did everyone right that has had that carrot dangling in front of them for 5-6 years.
That’s the point many are trying to make in these threads. Survive needs to clean up their act, not continue their bad business practices.

No, but you don’t seem to have a problem with the FACT that they do. As far as repairing their reputation, neither you nor anyone else can predict that outcome, because they haven’t done anything themselves to repair it. Repeating the same practices that earned them this reputation is not exactly what I’d call a step in the right direction. You are simply speculating how people here would react to support your own very uninformed narrative.I have NEVER said SK! SHOULD screw people over. I asked the question… what incentive do they have to try and repair their reputation if the same group of people are never going to forgive them anyway.
Survive doesn't have an obligation to anyone but their customers. They don't need to change the minds of haters or people who will not buy from them due to their reputation. The problem is that they don't seem to be doing anything to fulfill their obligation to the people who have paid for a product and have not received it. This is evident when they post a new production report every month or two. Little to no progress has been made on older orders for several months.I asked the question… what incentive do they have to try and repair their reputation if the same group of people are never going to forgive them anyway. I hope everyone that ordered a knife gets one. But the hate fest here on BF gives them no good reason to bother. People have plainly stated stated there is nothing SK! could do at this point that would change their mind. Those are the small but loud minority I’m talking about. I wonder how many of those that make the most noise even have or had a knife on order with SK!. My guess is few if any. They just like throw internet tantrums.

Well then, good thing you’re here to set us all straight.I’m not speculating… I asked the damn question and was told as much. And clearly if I hope everyone gets their knives… I don’t think it’s a good thing that they haven’t. That’s what you people try to do. If someone doesn’t agree with you completely… they must be dishonest, or dishonorable, or a shill, or any other terrible thing you can paint them when really… really their only sin is that they just don’t agree with you. And this thread is evidence that SK! is trying. Maybe not in a way that you’d like (which who gives a damn because I doubt you even have a knife on order with them) but they are trying to make good on the commitments they’ve made. But as illustrated all too often on this board… it isn’t gonna matter. There’s still gonna be that small loud minority crying and moaning about it. Anyone that hasn’t gotten a knife yet has a legitimate gripe… everyone else is just the slobbering mob.
Clearly their voices need to be amplified, because it's taking 6 years to get some of those folks a knife.Anyone that hasn’t gotten a knife yet has a legitimate gripe… everyone else is just the slobbering mob.

I mean, this statement doesn't matter- There's nothing that indicates they'll ever overcome their multi-year backlog.Doesn't matter... if this was all cleared up tomorrow... you'd still keep going. Either that or you'd find something new to be recreationally outraged about.
I don't know of any other production knife makers that have a backlog like Survive. If you know of any, feel free to list them. They are also one of the very few that have a sticky on the Feedback forum. This thread is evidence that people do get their knives. It's not ideal. And they may not be doing things the way you would. But they aren't telling order holders to F-Off. And lots of knife makers have done that.
