If Sandy said something that I did not agree with I would nail him like I would any other person.

Sandy's comment was silly, no one shot me in the foot, I did not shoot me in the foot and Essav's feet are not sore.

So Sandy's foot is sore cause it's stuck squarely in his mouth!!!

What now. All of sudden we have another victim in this thread?

IMO, and with all due respect, the only people that have a right to be a victim here are the one's that were ripped off by Alan.

BTW, Alan's the only one here that has shot himself in the foot and the only head that needs to be hung(pun intended) in shame is Alan's. That conclusion comes from all my "astute and observant" year's of experience and I'm only in my forties.

RWS, With this particular thread, I would kindly disagree that the "only" victims here have been those clients of Alan's who did not receive what they ordered. This thread has gone beyond that and expanded and evolved to the point that the (some of) general forum membership is attacking and waging small wars on each other! It is highly unfortunate that this situation with Allan has occurred at all. I understand. Even worse, is to see how so many members treat each other here. I might be old fashion, but I think there is a lot to be said for those who continue to act as gentlemen regardless of the people and subjects at-hand. I think you would agree, that if all of us were in the same room together, I doubt that much of this brave conversation would take place. :) And, for those who think that Sandy was still "silly"; well, if he was, he's earned it. :)

Sandy's age, professional skills, and the respect he's earned elsewhere mean NOTHING to us here who only know him from this (less than sage) remark:

"You people" is a bad start. Who are we people? Specify, or you've potentially insulted even people you don't mean to include.

"seem to enjoy" -- from a few heated remarks, under tense and unhappy circumstances, he presumes to characterize our attitude.

"shooting yourself in the foot" -- I'm baffled. In what sense have we injured ourselves? Not very clear in his metaphor for a wise man -- or is that a wise guy?

"the ammunition" has been supplied by no one so much as Allen Blade, with perhaps a bit of help in distributing it from his new BB friends.

Esav, I suppose we could dissect and analyze statements made here until our hearts content. However, in the end, I doubt that it will shed much wisdom or light that most are willing to listen to. I can understand where Sandy is coming from considering the exchanges that have been made between forum members here (an ongoing frustrating battle). You must admit, this is a lengthy thread full of accelerated emotions. There are moments when my mind is not entirely focused on the keyboard and I might seem to be curt at times. However, I sure appreciate it when my fellow forum members don't jump down my throat and take me to task over something uncharacteristic. Communicating our thoughts accurately each and every time via the keyboard is not an easy thing for most of us. Patience and some insight is golden.:)

Esav, I have not, nor will I take sides in this ongoing circus between two very respectable forums. I have not used my age or professional skills to enhance my appearance here. Perhaps I take my position as a moderator a little more seriously then some a little less seriously than others. My intent was to try and smooth the ruffled feathers of some damn fine people on both sides of the fence and prevent antagonism that should never have been allowed to happen. The statement to shoot oneself in the foot was not to be taken literally. It is an old saying meaning thats one' s actions did not improve their situation. I fail to see what purpose you have in putting me down, but it your privelege. At no time have I made any derogatory statement to or of any person on either forum, nor shall I as I do not feel that any one has earned such treatment from me. You might not know me, you might not even want to, which could be a loss to me! In reading your posts over the last few years, I have thought you to be a reasonabl man and I would like to believe that I was correct. I am a member of Blade Forums, a moderator on Knife Forums, Knife Network, British Blades, and once a moderator on Knifemaker's Guild. The fact that you have apparently no respect for me does hurt a bit, but it is your decision, not mine to make. This does not lessen the regard in which I hold you. I just wish that (without hurting anyone's feelings) that I could get you folks (I still think "you people" was not offensive)---to stop beating a dead horse. Perhaps I should not try to be a peacemaker, but what the hell, it didn't hurt to try! ---Sandy---
 
No big deal. I'm probably one of the few people here who could shoot himself in the foot and never even notice.

I think it's funny that as acrimonious as this thread can get, we spend a lot of time discussing the discussion instead of discussing the issues. Maybe that's why it gets so acrimonious.
 
This thread need to stay on target. Let's all try and keep to the issue and it will avoid these misunderstandings.

I don't know, maybe you're confused about what thread you're posting in.... Allan Blade is not dead; he is alive and trying to get people to send him money in return for promises.
 
No, Cougar, I am not confused. The point you make is a valid one in regard to the instigator of this thread. It is not as though it has not been made many times before, Has repitition changed anything other than fan the flames of dissent? Granted that you and Esav have thousands of postings and have time on your hands. Why not use that time to create friendships in the communities we frequent instead of tearing the forums apart? Being put down is never pleasant and it does not become you. I have a few people that owe me money, I am a forum member, they are knifemakers, are you willing to carry the torch for me? I am a big boy, albeit an old one, but I have always fought my own battles, treated people with courtesy, hoped to get the same in return. If the wronged parties in this action have sufficient evidence to prosecute the man, then they should do so. In the event they do not have sufficient evidence, they should take note and preventitve measures in the future. Prosecution might help restrict this man's actions. Persecution is something he thrives on. He is still laughing. I do not hear much mirth coming from the participants in this thread--------Sandy
 
Government often works pretty well when a thief and victim are both within the jurisdiction of the same organ of government. If you steal from people who are covered by the same district court as you, you can expect at least some of your victims to take a half-day off from work to go to court and sue you, and prosecution is possible, too.

On the other hand, if you steal in small amounts from each victim and take care that all your victims are distant (even if they're not all as far as Taiwan) you may find that your victims settle for warning others. Will you thrive on that "persecution"? Maybe so ... most of us are not going to try it, though....
 
I won't consider this a dead horse until Allan takes care of all his old obligations. he has to get Joe taken care of. If he wants to BS people about not owing Rob/Christine Simonich anything, that is up to him. I have no intention of letting it be forgotten though.
 
As I see it, until certain persons decided to let their egos get in the way of reporting information, there WAS no flames of dissent. The fact is, that before this huge tangent was kicked off, most of the posts at the end of this thread were for the purpose of seeing if Joe had gotten his money. Then other people got involved and it got blown WAY out of proportion. Joe needs his money. If that's beating a dead horse, well sign me up I guess. No, repetition hasn't changed anything. It hasn't changed the fact that Joe is owed the money, and it hasn't changed the fact that AB has been outrageously slow in repaying that money.

I know nothing about Alan or his knives. I hear he makes a fine knife, and that takes real talent to be able to do that.
On the flipside of the coin, he has admittedly taken money and not given them their goods. That takes a scumbag to to do that.

I hope that Alan keeps his promise to Joe.
