Martyn, I’m pretty sure you’re a nice enough guy, but the way I see it is you seem to have an axe to grind with Bladeforum’s because of our perceived American styled “hatred filled” and “poison spreading” methods which is probably what really led to your lame decision to allow this Alan low life to become an active member over there and to begin preying on more of your members.

I’m pretty sure that the largest part of your motivation to allow this fart, with a huge and long reputation of ripping off folks, to hop on board your forum and start ripping off your own members was primarily born out of an extremely egotistical desire to prove to everyone that Bladeforums is nothing more than a group of “hatred filled” and “poison spreading rednecks” with a “lynch mob mentality” trying to get their “rocks off” by “reaming” this “unfairly treated” Alan Blade.

To the detriment of your own members, I believe that your ego caused you to try and prove to everyone that BB was better than that. You were going to show us “I.Q. lower than the speed limit” rednecks how to tame a guy like this Alan character to becoming the respectable person that you honestly believed Bladeforums unfairly didn’t allow him to become while he was here.

You deliberately, and egotistically, contrasted Bladeforums perceived “Neanderthal” style with your own by trying to be more “fair” and more “responsible” than what you felt Bladeforums was, at the expense of your own trusting members.

The problem is that the only thing you got to show for it is you look like a complete fool for doing it.

Now you’re over here in a desperate attempt to defend yourself in front of us in hopes that your own members will come over here and read how it's not really your fault if they got ripped off by a known thief that you let roam free at BB.

Who's really the knuckle-dragging Neanderthal, Martyn......go look in the mirror my friend.

The other thing I'm puzzled at is why you, Martyn, spend so much time over here trying to defend yourself? It seems like your putting a whole lot more energy into that instead of trying to get the knives owed to BB members. It just doesn't seem like you're taking ownership (and leadership) of the issue.

That's probably why you will continue to receive criticism, ducking the issue doesn't help. I'm also a bit puzzled why BB members are letting you get away with it.
 
As far as calling Allan a thief and a lier is concerned, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

With his own actions he has proved himself to be lier. Telling people that their knife will be ready in a couple of weeks, send the money, and then not delivering for over a year is lying. Though technically what he has done there is fraud, not theft, I can forgive people for calling him a thief and not a bunco artist. The fact that Allan may eventually deliver the knives he has promised does not do anything to change the fact that he got the payment by fraud.If the head of an investment company defrauds his client's and then eventually pays them back, he is still guilty of fraud. If a thief steals from a store and then makes restitution, he is still a thief.

IMMATURITY

Alan lies constantly on BB, telling them that knives are ready when they are not, knives are lost in shipping when he has not shipped them, and knives are "just about complete" when he does not have the money to purchase the materials to START building them.

But to Martyn, it is just the typical business practice of a knife maker and not dishonesty....................................BULLSHIIT, it is scamming Martyn, s-c-a-m-m-i-n-g!!!! Maybe John corkum and Dale Reif will join BB and land a new market of suckers with martyn singing their praises.....

Maybe I'm wrong but I think a lot of people in BF and BB would really like to see Alan make a sincere effort to straighten up and many of us would applaud him if he did.

He has dug himself a major hole that will be hard to get out of with his current attitude. However, I think that a lot of us here would have gladly helped him try to get out of his situation if he had come clean and asked for some help. I know I would have helped out.

IMO, the problem is is that Alan decided to take the con-man's route and made it very apparent that he didn't care if he was screwing people, and still continues to make it appear that way.

Personally, I hope someday that he pulls his head out of his butt hole and comes clean.
 
I would love to see Alan make the effort and deliver every knife he owes and return every cent he owes.
I would also love to own the sole winning megabucks ticket worth 500,000,000.00

The odds for both are the same......................................

So what happened to all the righteous indignation from Allan himself. Whenever this stuff used to start up he would come on here and post how all those that had never dealt with him should just shut up. He would get all uppity about how it has been him that has been ripped off over the years. Then he would tell us how everyone would be getting what they were owed soon, and then what would we have say? It seems that he has no way to defend his recent actions and has decided just to keep quiet.

Maybe in a few months he will reappear with some sob story about how he was picked up by a tornedo and taken to a strange land of witches, munchkins and flying monkeys, and has just now been able to find his way back. Unfortunately the tornedo has destroyed his home and workshop and he is going to need the understanding of his customers, and could they please prepay for more knives so that he can get back on his feet. He will of course provide these fine people with their knives within a very short time.

The sad thing is that there are probably people that would say, "Poor Allan, what a terrible thing you had happen to you. Of course we will help you in any way we can. Were is it you want the money sent?"
 
When me and many others will probably never get our money or knives back, I my self have never put steve corkum on a pedestal. While he used to be a very good person to talk to, this doesn`t excuse the problems he has cause a lot of people. Many have talked about how good his work is, hoqwvwer that is where the talk has stopped, as he has hurt too many people. Just from reading these threads, it seems to me that the people across the water have put Allan pn a pedestal, and should be forgiven of his business practices. Am I wrong Keith?
 
I don't think he was put on a pedestal, but he was definitely forgiven his transgressions. People were willing to look past his checkered past and were willing to give him a chance to prove that he was a changed man. Sometimes this works out and sometimes it doesn't. Right now it is looking like the latter.
 
If Martyn listens closely he will hear the American version of "I told you so"

Sorry for not responding to emails,, ive been trying to get everyone who prepaid Finished, i have John Kellys and Faminlines knives going monday and have about 6 others to finish up and i should be finished with outstanding prepaid orders,,,,,, also i wont be on the web much at all as i am going to be relocating in about 4 months to handle some family issues comming up i will need to tend to so as i said as soon as i am finished sending out the prepaid orders i am and wont be knifemaking for atleast two years as i wont have a shop to work in as i am puting my shop in storage as i tend to the issues comming up.



If you want to close my membership i understand as ive let folks down on deliveries and i wont be on at all anyway, so please close it.



I will have everyone caught up within the next few weeks as ive planned. I do thank you for all the help and support even when i really havent deserved it and hopefully when i get back from overseas when i leave in about 4 months . i can get back to making knives again.

So I guess Allan has given up on that job with the knife manufacturer.

Here's hoping that he does get everyone their knives before he disappears.
 
At one time I was going to place an order with blade. Kinda glad I passed on him. I still like his work, but hate the bad rep he has. No one wins when it turns out this way.
 
Those that win are the ones who were thinking about ordering a knife from this crook and because of this thread steered clear.

Martyn why do you keep posting here? You PROMISED never to return here. You have not kept up your promise. What do you think you are going to accomplish with your hit and run insults? Is Joe being helped at all by your retoric? You now credit BB with Joe receving some of what is owed him. Did you pay Andy for the knife?

I would like to see you banned for your constantly insulting arrogant tone and your inflamatory comments, but I guess that won't happen. Please try to have some sense of dignity and stop the name calling.
 
I'm not a big fan of banning someone for essentially expressing their own genuine opinion but I would urge Martyn to temper his responses and avoid rising to the bait that is sometimes offered to him. As the owner of British Blades I would commend two Roman words to him. Dignitas and Gravitas.
