And The Snark Goes On

Dubz, enjoy your sleepover date at the cabin. I'll not make rude comments like some of these brigands just because they're jealous about you knockin' da boots.

This is totally funny. Especially when said with that Jamie Foxx/In Living Color voice. You know you know the one I'm talkin' 'bout.

In other news, I managed to put a halfway decent edge on my 15 tonight....used it to dice up pineapple for dinner tonight. I like that knife.

If the cabins a rockin..................;)
Heh, heh. :D The foreplay should be fast. Only an 8x12 space to catch her first, haha.

We looked the Zodi systems - very nice, but take up too much room in our self-supported vehicle for 10+ days.
For the cabin it would work great though.

Rude away man, it's all good.

Completely agree! With a big bottle of propane, the Zodi is ideal for cabin set-ups!
They make the 2 bottle model as well. Not sure that it would be necessary though.
Yeah but then you gotta get her up in the loft. :D

Don't mind if I do!
Haha. :D I'll lure her up there, under the guise of sleep. Pull up the ladder, and voila! Even less space up there to run. She does have an advantage though, the ceiling peaks at 5' up there, and she's 5'4". Damn, I can't win. :D

Wait till she's almost asleep, then you can grab her. Or bring champagne and get her tipsy.

The two bottle rig is better suited to cold temps. With the single bottle version, you can achieve similar hot water temps in cold conditions by recirculating the water - it just takes a bit longer. There's a vid online.

I saw that vid. I research everything. Like I said, I'll probably just go with the cheapy Coleman bag for now. It's all the former owners ever used.

Relief.

Pops finally got his test results back. No brain damage. No blood clot. No permanent damage at all. Called it a Transient Ischemic Attack (whatever the f___ that means). Still has numbness on his left side, but it'll hopefully go away with a little physio. Right now he's on blood thinners to get his blood pressure down, which was 197/117 (!) on arrival, and is relegated to a walker.

This is the best news we could have gotten. Especially since he's been retired for a whopping 6 weeks. I really didn't want him to have to deal with something like this at the start of his golden years. Knowing him he'll be pi$$ed off enough about having to use a walker that he'll be powering thru physio ASAP. Although my mom says he's already milking the situation - why you wanna know that, I just had a stroke; what do you want me to do, I just had a stroke - so maybe it'll take longer than it should lol.

Thanks to everyone who sent smoke and prayers. Just another example of the power of positive thoughts from Beckerdom!

Now I can finally go get a good nights sleep...

Good deal man.

Got everything packed, ready to go, except for a few small items. Looking forward to the next few days.

It's probably spring time in tornado alley and you better batten down the hatches!

That reminds me of one of the first times I went camping in high school. We used to go out in a giant group and take over a local campsite. You could always tell when people were having sex in a tent. It was really really quite because they didn't want to get caught, and the walls normally puff in and out following rhythm of what is going on inside lol. Those used to be awesome parties lol.
What were you doing watching other people's tents bellowing instead of having your own shenanigans?

Busy shopping week.

Ordered a Nemo Helios Pressure Shower,

There will be some serious mail-checking this week.
I'm right there with you bubba! I bought a RMD off the exchange. I figure if I'm not going to like a knife, I have to try it first and I might actually like it.
I also bought an Appalachian Hammock

However I got an orange one.

I also bought a bug net since I didn't have one, the Eno bug net

I also bought a new tarp (7x9').

Then I bought a new BK-2, 11, and Ka-Bar filet knife.

Congrats on the positive outcome.

More info that you want probably, but in the EMS world one of the terms used is "Brain Attack" and another is "Cerebral Incident". A brain attack is usually diagnosed as a TIA when the symptoms go away after 24 hours. If the symptoms last longer than 24 hours, it's diagnosed as a stroke. Sounds like your father had one of those "liners" where it can be deemed a "severe TIA" or "just barely a stroke". Can be caused by a small temporary clot that goes away or breaks up quickly with clot-buster drugs and blood thinners. Symptoms can also be induced if somehow a brain blood vessel gets pinched somehow during the "hypertensive episode", say like an arteriole is somehow looped around another arteriole and when the BP goes way up, the one arteriole "strangles" the other arteriole. I have way to much experience w/ this stuff... EMT since 1990 and have seen a ton of them in the field, a GF had a stroke, one of my GMs had TIAs, my mother has had a stroke and a couple of TIAs,.....

The good news is, it appears to not be seriously damaged this time. He will need encouragement and whip-holding to make sure he does the physio. That is VERY KEY to a good overall outcome. Don't follow the therapy right and he won't see the results. My mother did everything the therapist wanted and then some. My sisters and I worked with her and made her read out loud, worked with her on flashcards (math issues), etc. Most people can't even tell she's had one now.

My wife and I have a relationship as such that "if the cabin is a rockin'" it means, "we got suckered by the relator/previous owner and the foundation is messed up."
