Another Paypal Discussion

Its pretty easy for me as a buyer, If seller wants $100 Gift, I say "I won't do that, but what I will do is $103 Goods." (if I want it bad enough). Or I say "I won't do that, but what I will do is $100 Goods." (if I want it sorta bad).

If the seller INSISTS on gift, I'm done and look for the next one, same as if on E-bay a guy wants 100 through E-bay and PP but only 90 if we do a personal deal.

I say I found the deal on the auction site, and we play by those rules. If the guy won't play by the rules, I am out.

Great summary Fred S2. Sucks to get ripped off amidst our spoiled blade addiction habits on here.

I have bought several 100 blades via paypal gift over the last several years. Have not been screwed over yet--but I always look for a few seller reviews before agreeing to such 1st time around.

There is a little risk there, but I resent the ebay & paypal communist ethics so bad I just hate to supply funds to them amidst my spoiled American knife trading hobby. I am motivated to agree to such to keep fee fundage from them--not save the shipping funds.

Indeed we gotta exercise a little caution in who is offering to trade that way and not just auto bend to it, but I sure enjoy the opportunity to trade that way and keep $3 out of paypal anti American pockets.

That you would rather steal from PayPal or eBay rather than just avoid them says a whole lot more about you than it does them.

It is inaccurate and down right stupid reasoning like this that get people on my ignore list. Thanks for sharing and making yourself known

poof him & then they call me back & let me know that said Seller is banned & they have his money & account is closed &
all is well that ends well.!*** Easy way to handle the situation.^^

I have to ask, how are they communist? Do you know what a communism actually is? What makes them anti-American? As far as i can tell they are capitalistic through and through.

He clearly has no idea on this subject, and likely a great many other things.

I don' think that words means what you think it does.... Dictionaries are helpful, but only when they are read. Holding the book up to the side of your head won;t work either. How dare they want to be paid for their service that I am using? The nerve of these communists...

Hope you're joking because that's ridiculously petty.

I agree a bit but if this actually did happen we would have a lot less scammers and situations that end poorly here. The sum of the situation is bleak though. People would rather lie and cheat a company who's services they are using and to who's terms they have accepted to save a few bucks. This makes the whole of the community here look bad and untrustworthy as well as leads to many problems here. One guy going around tattling seems fine when you look at it this way. I hope more people get caught doing so and get their accounts shut down.

I respectfully disagree, and while I am not one to ask for a gift as a payment I do not concern myself with those that do, it is not my problem. Those that accept the deal to pay as a gift are asking for trouble and again that is not my problem, it is theirs, so for me or anyone to go out of their way to inform PayPal is petty. I also disagree that it in anyway reflects negatively on the knife community, to most people we simple don't exist, so they don't care how we pay for stuff or if we pay our dues to PayPal every time we use it. But this naturally is just my opinion.

No skin off your nose if someone else is cheated.

Yes indeed Thomas ;)

There is a lot of selfish thinking the last page or so of this thread. So to play to that, let me explain it from a selfish persons perspective that might make sense to you. If paypal can't get their nut through people using the service as it was intended what do you think will happen to paypal fees. They will go up. Along with more enforcement. Paypal also doesn't allow specific sales of various items. Now, if they figure out they are out a good amount of money because of what people do in this community, what do you think will happen then? No more knives.

Not to mention there are people in a community you are a part of that are liars and cheats. But hey, not your problem right?

I said I respectfully disagree and that tattling is petty, because it is. You can speculate about raising fees all you want, it wont change anything, nothing said here will change anything. People will continue to do what they want. To be clear, I don't condone their actions, so don't bitch at me about it!
