Another one of Primble's fine efforts that needs to be bumped up. This knife was posted about a year ago in Charles (Chuco) lobster thread. Catt Oriental Pearl.

You have found a lot of pristine Catts Barry. It is remarkable that the pouch is in that great condition.

And it is still a beauty Barry. Thanks so much for posting it again.

Somewhere Over The Cattbow

Just a stunning picture Gevonovich - thank you for posting it where it can be admired by other Catts ...............and other Catt lovers.:thumbup::thumbup::)

Cattaraugus Whitt-L-Kraft
Variation on a Scout Knife. Nice blades for informal whittling!

Very nice example of a knife which the company appeared to be very proud of. There is a full page advertisement in my 1930 Cattaraugus catalog of that very knife, touted as :

"Cattaraugus Cutlery Company"
"Little Valley, New York"
"Makers of the Famous Approved Boy Scout WHITT-L-KRAFT Knife"

Nice to know it was a Boy Scout approved knife, Rob! So many were wanna-bes!:D

I'm sure everyone will approve of this Hawkbill Pruner 11057.

I traded for it this morning at my knife club meeting - very full and snappy, it's got a good workhorse pedigree;)!

The handles don't match, but I am pretty sure they are Cocobolo.

The model number doesn't scan well, but it is 11057.

Nice clean tang stamp!
The drilled handle looks lightly worn, like there was a bail in it for a very short time. Imagine all the thousands of bails that got discarded over time!!

Just a wonderful piece, Charlie. The second picture sings:D Nothing betting than a pronounced tang stamp...especially when is says Cattaraugus!

Thanks Gev! Glad you like it!

I can't believe there was a time when I passed right by Hawkbills as if they weren't there!

Now I have one (sort of) coming out as an SFO!!;)

Amazing how tastes change . . .

That is a beautiful Catt Charlie - I can't figure out how you find all of those wonderful old knives with such great stamps and completely unused blades!!! Fantastic piece!:)

Very beautiful example of the electrician's knife Barry. Looks like you might shop in the same store Charlie shops!:)

Barry, that has to be one of the best looking electricians I have seen. And two liner locks...interesting. Just so svelte for a working knife

Charlie, and SFO hawk...this is going to be something to see:D

Gev, There is only 1 liner lock on this knife. It's for the screw driver blade. There is a shallow scratch on the brass from opening and closing the blade, giving the illusion of 2 liner locks.

I took out some more of my Catt's and took pics yesterday, Barry I forgot that I had a pearl with the covered back till I went looking for the 2 opals I have like that. Notice how the pearl and one of the opals has pins and the other opal does not? I believe the opals are trimmed with celluloid but it could be tortoise not sure.

Nice electrician's, Barry!

Define "opal" for me Mike?? Purity li'l knives!
Catt-snap pouches - wow!

Calling the Budding and Grafting knife a "spatula" is an insult to a nicely made spud!:D
Nice knife! Poor labelling in the catalog!
