Any Winkler fans?

My problem with my prototype was i had no firm backing for the leather. So the knife would not hang properly. I used para cord as a quick fix but in the end it was a ❌❌❌ failure. Best to let the experts remedy the problem

The attachment holes are oval in shape which should allow for some side to side play... personally I'd wait and see what size ferider ferider ordered.

Yes I didn’t see that photo in your post. I have been studying that and there probably is enough side to side range to accommodate the spread otherwise why would they advertise it? I will probably order a small and a medium as if i was to use it on my huntsman i would want the smallest it can accommodate IJT

The small Sagewood adapters go to 57mm and is what I have used on sheaths with 55mm between holes. As Boru mentioned the holes are oblong allowing the hardware to slide slightly for adjustments. Also you can file the kydex a little for odd measurements. But if your sheath holes measure 55mm I would go with the small adapter, better a snug fit than having extra kydex over hanging your sheath. I have numerous knives that I've used Sagewood adapters on and most have taken the small.

From Sagewood's page ...

Extra Small Adapter - 1.43" to 1.9" (36mm to 48mm)
Small Adapter - 1.75" to 2.25" (45mm to 57mm)
Medium Adapter - 2.06" to 2.56" (52mm to 65mm)
Large Adapter - 2.31" to 2.81" (58mm to 71mm)
Extra Large Adapter - 2.62" to 3.10" (66mm to 78mm)

Ok checked out Sagewood gear and really like the adapters. What size do i get for the BRH and Field Knife as they measure the same? It’s says Small or medium which is weird as the sizes have overlap? I am more confused than normal? Please advise? ferider ferider thanks

I guess i can get a small and medium as they will all fit some how?

If the sizes overlap for your center to center hole measurement (it happens), better pick the smaller one - otherwise the kydex attachment might stick out a bit on the sides. Also, better to have the nuts be at the end of the kydex holes, so less risk of side 2 side movement. Worst case, like JJ & SH said, you can file/dremel the holes a little longer. And I recommend (Brian does too) to use loktite.

Sorry, I forgot what size I ordered for my HH and I can't check.

Yes i think the medium will over hang more than i would like. I studied ferider ferider s last post with the picture and it seems to either over hang or be right on the edge.

Order completeo! I think if i guess correctly i will be wearing my Field and BRH for edc a lot more. The FK is a little over kill doing local shopping and such but heck in these parts it’s not out of place at all. I was at Lowes one time of many and i had my BRH not visible and a customer in the isle had what looked like a 10 or 12 inch blade in a brown sheath that looked like a nice custom.
And i just had to smile.

I had one and despite selling it the HH is easily one of my favorites.

If I wasn't such a BK fanatic the HH would be my go to mid sized fix blade.

I'm sure I'll purchase another in the future 😁
Wait i just reread your post. The HH is your idea of a midsize carry knife…😂🤣😂🤣🤪

All I can say is thank you :)

I just thought of something. I love my original(first Winkler) BRH and now this SD1 is awesome and one of my everyday carry knives. So it’s only natural to want to fill it all in with a BK whopper! Ok i couldn’t resist lol.
I really don’t need a BK (the knife) as i have a FK (Field Knife) that is very useful and does everything a BK would be used for just a tad longer.
I do like the look of the Highland Hunter though.
Anyone have a HH?
Thoughts?
I have a Highland Hunter and it's one of my favorites especially with the oak handle. I bring it out hunting with me every so often. I like it even more than the Belt Knife.

I didn't realize they were about the same size the belt knife and the HH. The HH just looks like a slimmer profile.

what is the bottom one?

My memory serves me sometimes. I think the belt knife is 4 1/2 and the Highland Hunter is 4 3/4 yet the picture seems to show the BK longer than the HH. I’ll check to make sure i don’t have that reversed. If so it’s knife placement creating the illusion.
