They're also advertising it as a tapered tang on the website, is that really case? I've noticed they've been doing away with that and sadly none of my winklers have a tapered tang.

I'm not a hunter but the Blue Ridge Hunter is the sliciest winkler I've gotten out the box by far which I imagine is pretty desirable for a hunter. It slices ups teaks pretty nice either way. Had I gone with maple handles rather than micarta it would definitely be my favorite knife.

Very early belt knife I got directly from Mr Winkler. I like how it retains more of the vibe of his frontier blades, hadn't quite gotten refined and perfected as much as they are now. 52100

One of these days I’d like to own a Winkler. Am I the only one that wishes they all came with the traditional/conventional pouch sheath? Or at least the option for one? When I look at retailers it seems like the Lost Lake is the only one that does

All the time. Many of the dealer sites have the limited editions now and then.

I’ve been trying to track down a black micarta Case Winkler Skinner. For those of you who have that model is it also a slicer?
